Don't know where your information is from but it is not correct. CCHS is doing on-site readings with a digital monitor. Heat index is being closely monitored by CCHS AD and tourney manager.

I apologize if that's incorrect. That is the information i received. Does the AD really think it's going to be better at 4pm? Teams were already taking 10 minute heat breaks during the game. JMO.

The 9th region baseball tourney was stopped also.

The readings were being taken with 2 different monitors and they were both reading the same thing. There should have been no reason for this if the 5 schools voted to have a split session.

Off of what, there's not a tree to be found near that field. Probably always hotter there than the airport. Last year umpires and players were dropping like flies during the Boys 10th Region Tournament because of the heat.

Definitely the right call to make on pushing back the games.
