IMO average talent all-around the team is the best way to win. That way you know your kids worked hard all year long to get what they deserve. Teams with 1 or 2 "star" players usually fade into the distance. But when the whole team contributes, WATCH OUT.

Power clean in my opinion is the best and toughest lift to do. But I have heard from many college coaches that leg strength is the biggest downfall among high school players if and when they reach college. So things like leg press and squats are important too if done correctly.

You know youre going to take a verbal beat down at the jungle when you play the Jags. Even though we have no seniors left haha.

A really good one was when North Laurel played Danville a few years back in a the regional tourney and did the random letter chant. (ONE KID) "GIVE ME A C- GIVE ME A W- GIVE ME A Q- GIVE ME A 7- WHATTA YA GOT? (WHOLE CROWD) WHO CARES YOU SUCK!

There is no way Clark can play as close to Lincoln as they did earlier during regular season. I have seen both play and trust me, Miller/Calhoun & Co. will bring it hard and often. GRC will be blessed to stay within 14 by the half, and within 25 at the end of regulation. LC 37 GRC 09

I am a little bit shocked. Hvae we not seen North Laurel do some amazing things this season (not withstanding their massive turnover record). It seems to me that NL has overcome a great deal of injuries; and yet, there is always someome who steps-up and shows what they have hidden deep inside. This is what allowed them to play their hearts out and defeat their crosstown sister school and rival. This is what allowed them to go on a 3-game winning streak. Not to play the psychological game of who is out to avenge a former embarrassing loss from last season, but the psychology of that loss as it bears on Madison Central minds coupled with the aforementioned dormant talent(s) just waiting to be awoken, I wouldn't count-out the JAGS just yet. After all, hardly anyone (present company accepted of course) has seriously picked them to win any of the last three games. These boys know how to lose, that's for sure; but, they also know how to win by sheer determination and "will-of-spirit". Let's wait and see what the coaching staff have in store relative the replacement(s) for Brandenburg and any other guy who perhaps isn't start-ready for the game. There is still talent on this team, and alot of it: Maggard, Asher, Adams, White, Nelson, Cornett, Smith, and the list goes on-and-on. I will go out on a limb for this one. Ready? 52-7 Lincoln County Congrats to LC and especially to their tremendous running backs and coaching staff. North Laurel played hard. As I stated earlier today, the boys play with a great deal of heart. They all love to play the game. The injuries are terrible for this team of dedicated and talented players; they just haven't received the breaks to show how talented they really are. I am proud of each and everyone of them. They will hang tough like they always do. And, I hope they have fun with the remainder of the season as they gear up for Madison Central and Whitley Co.

I do agree with downsouth's thoughts regarding North Laurel needing to remedy their turnover problem. As for the "praise" portion of the post, I do know that this team plays with a great deal of heart; they do not quit either when behind early or late. NL must play each down (offense and defense) as if the outcome of the game depends upon each play. Actually, any one play can and sometimes does become a game-changer. NL can stay with Lincoln if they do fix the turnover problem, play their usual tough defense and stop the run, and protect their quarterback from the blitz. I will not predict the outcome of this game. The answer to victory hangs in the balance between the Lincoln run and NL's execution of the mixture of plays.

Haha, what if you made every team in the state and put them in class, region and district then simulated the games to see who would win the title in every class.

I think Maggard, Asher and company finally get this offense together for a close win at GRC.

No doubt Somerset has played tough teams and have come up short on most cases but still this forum is about the best reciever in the mountains. Not the best team record.

#21 cornett from north laurel has stepped up big time this year making 2 clutch td catches against crosstown rival south laurel, with the 2nd one being in double coverage.

Who are the best recievers in the mountains so far this year? I would easily take John Cole from Somerset over anyone.

ricky didnt seem that great against north laurel... being completely shut out in the 2nd half. but my pick is ammons totally.

ammons is a great kid with tons of talent and seems the learn from every single mistake. vic anderson of course is at the top of everyones list. but as the most underrated... chris maggard.

youve got to give credit to NL's defense on this one. keeping them off the scoreboard the second half. and the offense stepped up great last night with maggard really taking over and wardrup thorwing everything on target all night.
