Lincoln scored quickly on a 47 yard TD run, PAT no good. NL goes 3 & out. Lincoln fumbles, Asher returns fumble to the LC 25 yard line. Brandenburg scores from 3 yards out, PAT good.

2nd quarter update

Both teams have turned it over once. A fumble by LC led to a NL TD. An interception thrown by NL led to a 3 & out for LC. Wardrup (NL QB) shaken up on first play of the last drive.

2nd quarter

Last TD was a 57 yard TD pass to Calhoun. LC is having no luck with PAT's tonight and penalties have hurt both teams. But the TO battle is even at 1 apiece right now.

Jones in at QB for NL right now. Wardrup was shaken up on the last series and looked wobbly. Jones is a good passer, but doesn't have the running ability that Wardrup has.

Calhoun has scored a rushing TD, a receiving TD from Rogers and an interception returned for a TD for the last score. The 2 pt PAT is good. Lincoln starting to take control. Turnovers cost the Jags at Lincoln last season in a heartbreaking loss and are coming back to bite them again this year.

Is this kid a senior? Should he be mentioned in the Mr. Football race?

HALFTIME

North Laurel drove down to the Lincoln County 2 yard line and had first and goal. Failed to score as they ran out of time and came up short on 3 straight plays. Wardrup and Brandenburg both injured right now for NL. Wardrup appears to have a concussion and Brandenburg appears to have a left ankle sprain.

 

That goal line stop by the Patriots was huge for LC.

Jags were losing, but the loss of Brandenburg (ankle, possible break) and Wardrup hasn't helped them any at all.

Congrats to LC and especially to their tremendous running backs and coaching staff.

North Laurel played hard. As I stated earlier today, the boys play with a great deal of heart. They all love to play the game. The injuries are terrible for this team of dedicated and talented players; they just haven't received the breaks to show how talented they really are. I am proud of each and everyone of them. They will hang tough like they always do. And, I hope they have fun with the remainder of the season as they gear up for Madison Central and Whitley Co.
