  1. Harry, thats pretty spot on. I'll be at Churchill for Thanksgiving. I'll let you pick my winners!
  2. Heard he had 18 carries for 18 yds. Very surprising!
  3. & by Central....i'm referring to Louisville Central. Afterall, this thread is about the top spot in 3A....
  4. I don't base my opinion solely on margin of victory or the opponent. Sure, SW has a cupcake schedule... But they're more technically sound than central. Central may have a couple more athletes at certain positions, but overall SW has a better team on the field. Central has never been known for discipline or execution
  5. I've seen film on both SW & Central. No comparison. South is cleary a better team & deserves the #1 spot IMO. As they should considering their 5A enrollement numbers. We'll see if they have the same success once the realignment kicks in. Regardless, they have an outstanding team especially up front.
  6. Love to see the Tigers pull an upset, but I think Desales is too complete of a team to let that happen.
  7. D-1 scholarships are born, although there are exceptions. Simple fact, ya can't teach speed...or size.
  8. Harry, have to agree with you. That realignment & the young talent is a recipe for a good run
  9. JH played well against Meade @ Meade. Thats a tough place to get a win. I was a bit surprised by that. I was hoping JH could carry some of that momentum into Ft. Thomas.
  10. Highlands will win this game. The question is...can JH be competitive? They are very young this year especially up front. I hope they can play well enough to keep it close. Either way, its an opportunity to improve.
  11. JH by 21+. They may start slow defensively, but Coach Lewis will have them rolling soon.
  12. The situation could be very good for Etown if they can land the right coach. Jagger's would be big, so would a few others.... I hope they decide quickly, lots a work to do in order to keep Etown headed in the right direction. I hear the new facilities are top notch
  13. Agree. WR/TE will be interesting. Although relying heavily on either in the wing-t means you're probably not a great team anyway. As long as Coach Lewis can find a few guys that can catch a ball, i think they can keep defenses honest. A few young RB's could develop into solid players in a few years. Losing Ray, Fleming, & Brown will be noticed, but I think they will be okay, especially in the middle. In my opinion( don't hate me) I think Chris Smith is a better LB than Domonick Brown. Line play is always crucial, and time will tell who will mature and step up to fill the holes left behind
  14. He's right. The defense will be good. Lots of experience returns. Elam and Smith will be hard to handle. Offensively, they will have some talent in spots. Smart athletic quarterback, but what surrounds him will be the big question. If they have to rely heavily on Anderson to carry the load, there could be durability issues. You can never really tell, high school kids are unpredictable sometimes. Coaches will tell you...when you put your livelihood in the hands of 16-17yr. olds, you can expect the unexpected. All that said, i don't know if this is the year they bounce and beat another very good BG team. Should be fun though!
  15. I know a very seasoned coach was offered but declined. No names. I also know they are really looking for a coach who has a great relationship with his players/co-workers and has a strong influence in the community. Sounds like a different direction than a few prior HC's. Which remaining applicants fit that bill?
  16. Good Article, but only caught one mistake. Alabama Actually offered him first. Interesting considering the other schools choices are not quite Alabama caliber. UK offered him after Elam tweeted that the tide offered him. As a UK fan, feelin a bit frustrated by their recruiting prowess. Although this new staff seems to be combing through in state talent quite well. Hope the Cats can land him.
  17. Slobber, I heard UK gave hime a soft offer with several "Ifs". If he loses weight, If he has the right ACT score, etc. I also heard Saban wants him "as is". I hope this is not true. As a UK fan, I'd hate for them to miss getting Elam. I think more offers will come in now that Bama offered....but where the heck is UofL in all this. As far as I've heard, they haven't shown any interest.???
  18. I think Coach Lewis will move to the offensive side of the ball. He can coach any position, but I think he's probably more offensive minded.
  19. Congrats to Coach Lewis! He will do a great job!
  20. Great question, that I don't understand either. As a team from Tennessee, playing anyone other than Trinity has virtually no upside. Even though you and I know how good Highlands is, I'm sure Ensworth still sees the potential win as pointless, considering its against Kentucky football. A loss, well...that's just downright embarrassing.
