I went to Fairview for a while,and had a good friend from Raceland.He was thrilled when the Eagles were able to get in the playoffs,so they could get Beechwood 1st round.

Both teams are phonominal,no doubt.At the same time,I can never call it an upset when these two meet.Just without a doubt the best game in the state,one of the best in the country.It's been a well known game in other states.That was one of the few times the winner didn't go undefeated.As I said,most called this one, and 3 of Trinity's losses.One of the toughest schedules I have ever seen.They started with both a TN powerhouse and an OH powerhouse.

I'm a Boyd County fan myself,and I feel confident they'll win their district.I know the Dawgs hope to disrupt this beautiful plan,but so do the Musky's and Vikings.After the district,it looks to be a swift exit and back to basketball.That's just the realist in me.The good news is that sophmore line.Next couple of years looking very sunny.

I hope the Red Devils are ready to play,because I think East would like to get in on some of the reload action.

To defend both teams,most of the losses came at the hands of Beechwood.And then if not Beechwood,then they got to entertain NCC.I don't think it's all that bad knowing these losses come by 2 small schools who remain competitive in our state's strongest football regoin,well save maybe Lousiville.I'd just like to see them pull a few more upsets in the postseason.

Well,I don't think either team will break 30,no one in the district puts up alot of points.Some can get yardage,but not the points.

Wasn't that Brohm's senior season,ranked #3 in the nation preseason? I believe it was the Tenn.reighning state champ,MBA if memory serves,another came by way of Cincy ST.X or Collerain,can't remeber which.But beating the undefeated #1 team in the state was no upset.In fact I do remember most of the BGP loyals calling that one,and the first three losses for that matter.

IF the wind is low,the weather is mild,and all the heavenly bodies allign just perfectly,all the right upsets,then there is that most extreme possibillity that they could pull off one last upset,it's that little thing called hope.Why else would we play the game.The numbers are not always right.

I agree LC played a far tougher schedule.Few teams play a schedule like that,but BC got there worst loss against to Breathitt County 14-34.I believe LC may have hurt themselves by playing a schedule full of teams like that.If BC had been a little healthier,LC may not have won that one.I'm not making excuses or trying to put down the Bulldogs.I'm just saying they need to get a couple of games that are little more winable.Let the boys know how it feels to win,instead of getting decimated almost weekly. Of the games I've seen LC was hitting harder and showing heart,but they need something to build confidense.

Put me down for Belfry all the way to Papa Johns.

Hazard should go far in post season this year.

Russell may have a hard time beating Mason County twice.

If the Raiders keep #8 in check on both sides of the ball they can stay in this,but 9 other teams have tried this and failed.Russell is a very good team.I think they're a little over rated this year,and I mean a little before anyone gets insulted,but they win this contest,East is not over rated. I would take Boyd for alot more,as they have moved the ball well all season.The end zone just seems to alude them.I'll stick with my 14 points and Boyd.

Best team not in the playoffs...hard to say,none are good,maybe we should do a thread on teams that shouldn't be in the playoffs.I think there are entire districts that could go on that one.

Both teams were beat up in the first meeting,but I think with them both getting healthy,Boyd's starters will make a far bigger impact.Lawrance won just that one game,hard on boys to lose so much.Boyd is on a 4 game winning streak and is finally playing a little rush defense.I'll have go with Boyd by 14,but not sure what I think the actual score maybe.

If they had some reason to think they would beat Beechwood,but even after thumping LCA,I can't figure Hazard pulling that off.I could see a #2 or #3 ranking though,but I guess that's why they don't call me for my oppinion on these things before voting.

As for season length,I enjoyed the days when a team could schedule an extra game,but the heat should not be as big of a factor as everyone claims.I'm not sure how it is now,but when I was in school,we worked longer and as hard in practice as on game night,wich was at night unlike practice,which was mornings and evenings.

I'd say something like West virgia's system,let strength of schedule and record determine who deserves to play in the postseason.I know 1 bad game can hurt in this system,but that's competitive football.

After seeing the Vikings at Boyd County, I didn't understand why they weren't winning,they have really good athletes,size,not blazing speed but still had some speed. They should've posted a far better season,but I'll have to go with Greenup on this one,Rowan just can't seem to beat their demons.

I haven't seen Fleming play, but I have seen Breathitt, I don't think BC loses untill they meet Belfry, but that'll be a story for a later thread. I really enjoyed watching Breathitt, even though they were laying a hurtin on my Lions.

I've never known Beechwood to take any playoff game lightly.

All in all,this is still the closest they've come to acurate top 7 all season.
