What classification are they in? How would this team compete in similar classification in Ky? By the way, congrats on the victory...

I wouldnt call Bell a great team. They may be, but, there schedule was very weak so its hard to say. They beat a good Lincoln Co team to open the season and after that only played 1 team with a winning record(Sheldon Clark) whos in a lower classification. Everyone on here keeps talking about Lone Oaks weak schedule, me included, but, when I look at Bells, Lone Oaks is better overall than theres, but, since they are a traditionally solid program, they get the benefit of the doubt. With that said, I still think Lex Catholic wins this game, but, I do see Lone Oak being a solid challenge due to there style of play and ability to score in bunches. Robinson is a great QB, but, they've also got a couple of very good receivers with good speed and run great routes. I think they will be overmatched defensively and that'll be there downfall, but, there offense is good enough to keep them in the game and if they get a few breaks and play errorless football, they've got a pretty fair shot.

I'm certainly not doubting you, but, if true, BGreen has to be the unluckiest team ever, because the last 2 years the same things were being said about CC and Lex cath.

Unless those fans are planing on coming onto the field and making some plays, I don't see that being much of a factor...

Should be a great game. Both teams are hitting there stride at the right time. Both teams have played a challenging schedule against a variety of styles. NCC would have to be favored based on the last 2 years experience being here, alone. There defense will keep them in games even when the offense sputters. Ft Campbell, i've only seen twice, but, they are a very physical team with a stable of great athletes. They dress about 55 kids and play alot of different players on both sides of the ball without much dropoff. They are a big play team, but, can also punish you 3-4 yds at a time. There QB has good size and can scramble and run when neccessary, is elusive and hard to bring down and his play fakes are pretty good. He's got average arm strength and is more a short passer than a Homerun guy. There RBs are big and tough and not real fast but quick to the hole and strong in the legs. There defense has improved as from what I saw early in the year, they aren't real big upfront and the strength is there LBs and secondary. I think it'll be a game of momentum. Whoever gets it 1st and gets there confidence going will win.

To me, this is an impressive win against a redhot team on the road. Congrats Falcons and best of luck next week.

I have to agree with alot of assessments here. BGreen has layed an egg the last 2 years in the finals. That may be a scary thing also. Alot of these kids have 3 years experience in this game and 3rd time is often a charm. I do think BGs more balanced then they've been the previous 2 years and there schedule has been much improved vs the old 3a format. Trinity, WCentral(twice), WEast, Marshall Co, Boyle Co, NHardin, Owensboro & John Hardin are 9 pretty tough opponents and they havent had the luxery of just going through the motions for 5-6 weeks leading up to the finals, as in years past. In addition, they've actually played better against the better teams. I think they've been dying to get back to this game since last year to redeem themselves and earn some respect. With all this said, this Highlands team may be the best team they've played in the finals thus far. FTH has been a juggernaut all year and have played at a very high level every game. They, too, have played a very challenging schedule and seem prime to bring home another trophy. I think this game will come down to who takes better advantage of the others weaknesses, which aren't many, either way. I think Highlands defensive line and LBs will put alot of pressure on BGs QB and stuff the running game, so, for BG to win they'll have to do alot of rollouts and take advantage of there superior sized receivers and for Highlands to win, they'll have to establish the running game by running right at them and mix in some play action and avoid costly turnovers. I think field position will also play a big roll in the outcome. I'll be rooting for the Purples to earn some respect but in the long run, I think Highlands will take a very close one...FTH 24 BG 21

LO will definately put some points up. There line is actually pretty decent at pass blocking, not so great run blocking. Probably why they pass so much. I have been impressed with there composure all year. They just don't seem to get rattled when there down or too hyped up when there ahead. Theres a quiet confidence about them, it seems. I do think Lex Catholic will be a little too athletic and deep for the Oakers to overcome, but, for some reason, I think Lone Oak will pull it out. Look for over 100 pts in this one...

I'm quite sure they are aware of whats heading south and they'll be more than ready for it. Is this the same d-line that gave up 21 to Pburg and 41 to NCC, cause, I would venture to say Frankfort has superior athletes to PBurg and would be right there with NCC, maybe a little better on the offensive side, at least.

Then we must assume you've seen all the 1a teams play! I doubt you've seen any of the other 3 remaining teams, but, correct me if i'm wrong. I will say the Beechies have the best tradition of any of the remaining teams but before I would make that bold a statement, I'd make sure I had seen them all...

I don't see how you can pick anyone other than Lone Oaks Cory Robinson. His #s are staggering and dwarfs anyone elses. I do think there schedule has been pretty average to weak, but, a perennial losing program going undefeated and making the semis in 4a should be plenty sufficient to earn his place amongst the leaders. I'm a believer that 1 man doesn't make a team, but, he's carried his all year long and doesn't have the strong supporting cast around him that many of the others do.

From the looks of this, it appears the Beechwood/Frankfort and Lone Oak/Warren East should be the best 2 games....

I was just curious since you guys played both Cinci. St X and Louis. St X, how you think those 2 teams compared to each other. CStX scored almost twice as many points against you but also gave up twice as many. Both these teams have been ranked nationally for the biggest part of the year. How would you see the matchup if these 2 played each other? What were each teams strengths and weaknesses? How would it play out? Thanks.

I would also consider Bgreen, WEast and Owensboro in West ky...I think BGreen wins 5a and Ft Campbell wins 2a...I don't think Tilghman, WEast or Lone Oak have the horses to win it all, as I see Tilghman taking it on the chin this week against Central and Lone Oak losing to Lex Catholic next week...

Man, can't someone give an opinion that differs from someone elses without thinking most of the state is rooting against you..I see nothing in any of the above comments that displays so called rooting against NKy. I wish all teams well and may the best team win, regardless of where there from.

I'd say Mayfield knows how to win this time of year too. Didn't do em much good this year though. The last 2 years NCC has knocked Beechwood out prior to this round and unless the Beechies have alot of srs that played when they were freshmen, don't have alot of kids thats been here before. If I'm not mistaken, they also have a new coach who hasn't been here before. Tradition is great, but, I agree with above poster, it has absolutely nothing to do with upcoming game. In addition, don't you think Danville, Boyle Co, Bell Co, Russell, Male, etc. know how to win this time of year. I don't see them anywhere, so, again, every year is different and tradition is great, but, can be overblown quite a bit, cause every year is a new year with new kids and noone really knows how they'll respond.
