don't want to doubt you NCCfamily but your sidelines was over half empty against us last week, hardly a ringing endorsement for your fans when your playing the number #2 team in NKY on your home field.

Northern Kentucky Freshmen Standings
Wow !!!! First you lose to Highlands by 45 and then to SK by 34, man have things fallen apart in Park Hills with that squad. I believe they had a class or two that went undefeated just 2 or 3 years ago and now your getting beat by Simon Kenton ?

Joe Castaneda vs. Mike Mitchell
I think they are two very different players, Mitchell being much bigger and more physical and Joe C being more of a speed and slasher kind of guy(atleast returning punts and kicks) Just my opinion but I think they are both great atheletes but Mitchell from what I remember has the distinct advantage in size, and as they say you can't teach size, or height or something like that. I guess on the numbers side Joe C is truly about 5-10" 170 and was'nt Mitchell around 6 or 6-1' and around 200lbs, big advantage in my book

If your talking Northern Kentucky it has to be in no particular order: Highlands Cov Cath Beechwood Highlands and Beechwood have tough places to play with the feel of the whole town parking all over both cities(Ft. Thomas and Ft. Mitchell) and filling up their intimate standiums and being fanatical about their teams. CCH on the other hand has the best Student Section fans about anywhere.

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions
Not understanding why everyone getting there panties in a wad over this one. I happen to agree with you, I too have no idea why Joe C has'nt played O before now and yes the fact is it has not been brought up before now, not last year, and not this year until this past week is amazing to me also. This does answer allot of questions about the staff as far as I'm concerned, how you have the fastest guy in the school who also probably the best athelete only touch the ball on kickoffs and punts I have no idea. The last time I remembered you get the best atheletes the ball as often as you can get it, 4 or 5 times a game on returns is not enough. As far as who it's against does it really matter, none of the next 3 games mean anything in the AAA standings and do nothing to hurt the team. Put him in when he's ready !!!!

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions
Yeah I'm sure that was part of their big sneak attack. It's not exactly a surprise, anybody in and around the program knows it and obviously so do their opponents.

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions
Brent Buckley got hurt in the Dixie game and Brandon was his back-up so that was out of the question since they did'nt even discuss Joe playing offense until this week in practice. He took his first snaps on offense just yesterday so it can only be games in the future as far as the discussion goes

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions
Not understanding everyones comments about not bringing him in against St. X, so it's ok to play Brandon every down on offense, defense, and all special teams and risk injury to him even sooner? Sooner or later he needs a break and better sooner than later. If Joe's the guy go ahead and get him in there. As a matter of fact St.X and Waterson are great times to get him in there since Brandon will need even more rest against bigger, faster, deeper teams and quite honestly if he makes a mistake or two thats fine since those games really mean nothing to CCH in the grand scheme of things

All-around players
You beat me to it 5432, with 4 touchdowns rushing in the last two weeks not to mention returning punts, kickoffs, being the gunner on kickoffs and punts and starting at corner. He's one busy boy I'd also throw Joe Casteneda of CCH in the mix. Joe is being recruited by numerous DI schools at cornerback, returns punts and kicks with Brandon and very soon will also be sharing the tailback duties with Brandon

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions
You will definitely see him soon, does'nt look like he's ready for this week since he has'nt played on the offensive side of the ball in 4 years and does'nt know any of the playbook. But word is he'll be ready for next week at St. X :dancingpa

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions
Agreed to an extent on the Brandon front, only weighing 160 lbs and playing every play is a recipe for disaster( Injury). That being said he is the toughest 160 lbs kid you've ever met and if he could get more down time I think he would be fine. Since I started the comments with Joe C. I'll give my opinion and that's to say I have no idea why this kid does'nt play O. He is the fastest kid in the school, and as seen with him returning punts and kicks it's amazing to watch him with the ball. My only thought is that Rodenberg feels like he has a bunch of talent on offense and Joe is such a valuable defense and special teams player that he's just left him where he's comfortable. I believe however that you find anyway possible to get the fastest, best athelete in the school the ball as many time as you can !!!!!!

Cov Cath 35 NCC 14
I'd just say that you can take 5432's word on this one, Brandon would love to have someone split time with him and therefore not be so exhausted with punts, kickoffs, and playing corner and as far as he is concerned no one could do it better than Joe C

Cov Cath 35 NCC 14

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions
CCH 28 Beechwood 7 The "two headed monster" of Joe Casteneda and Brandon Brown make their debut of switching series at tailback and run for over 200 yards for the Colonels
-
Cov Cath 35 NCC 14
Don't understand that one, you've got the fastest kid in the school I'd think you'd want to get the ball in his hands as often as possible. Why not have Brandon and Joe switch on series, you'd have two guys who can fly and each would get a rest every other series. I believe there will be conversations with coaches from both Brandon and Joe.
-
CovCath Vs. NCC predictions
Could'nt agree more, have Brandon and Joe alternate series, that way each guy is atleast getting a little rest before they have to go out on defense. I've never understand why Joe C. has not played offense, the fastest guy in the school needs to have the ball in his hands more !!!!

CovCath Vs. NCC predictions
Agreed, can't see a second straight flat performance like last weeks 1st half I've got to say though that I'm a little worried that their new starting Tailback(Brandon Brown) will also be playing every defensive down at DB and returning punts and kicks and also sprinting down field on defense on the punts and kicks. Looks like another good way to get one of your best players hurt( See Brent Buckley playing Linebacker for reference). CCH 35 NCC 7

CCH/Dixie Updates
Very sad to see Brent get hurt, but it is good to hear he should'nt be out more than 3 to 4 weeks. Also great to see Brandon have such a great game coming in for Buckley and scoring 3 touchdowns, especially after losing his grandpa last night with whom he was very close
-
CCH 28 Dixie 7
Great game for back-up tailback Brandon Brown. Brandon who plays DB and returns punts and kicks came in to sub for the hurt Brent Buckley. Brandon scored three touchdowns in the second half all after a very difficult day for him and his family. Brandon's grandfather Paul Hemmer Sr. passed away after an extended illness last night and Brandon was very close to him and he could be seen at many of the Cov. Cath Basketball or Football games before he became ill last year. Great game Brandon, your Grandpa would be very proud !!!!!!

Hey Dixie Fans!
Don't have to worry about seeing many of those on Saturday !!! Maybe that would be a good day to do a little Red Towel laundry

The First NKY Top 10 Fan Poll
Is this a little comic relief on a Monday? If Ryle's better than Cov. Cath I'll buy you a Diamond !!!!!! I know scrimages don't mean much and Gray was out but one guy does'nt bring you from getting dominated to winning a game (unless your Boone County in the mid 90's and that guy is Sean Alexander)
