Joe Castaneda vs. Mike Mitchell

Featured Replies

Can someone compare these two?

Who is the better cover DB? Is on faster, quicker, a better athlete or a better hitter than the other?

Since we are debating Cataneda flipping over and playing some O (similar to how Mitchell did his senior year), can we expect similar results?

I think they are two very different players, Mitchell being much bigger and more physical and Joe C being more of a speed and slasher kind of guy(atleast returning punts and kicks)

Just my opinion but I think they are both great atheletes but Mitchell from what I remember has the distinct advantage in size, and as they say you can't teach size, or height or something like that. I guess on the numbers side Joe C is truly about 5-10" 170 and was'nt Mitchell around 6 or 6-1' and around 200lbs, big advantage in my book

I'll agree with CCH86. Both were/are dominant high school players. They separate when you talk college. Mike is a safety and apparently doing well at OU while Joe C. will most likely be a corner in college. Both are playmakers. Both like to lay the wood. Both are dynamite with the ball in their hands.

Please identify in detail who these players are.

Joe Castaneda is a Sr. DB/now RB for Cov. Cath.

For Mike Mitchell go to the search feature at the top, type in his name, and you can read more than you ever want to know.

Joe is probably faster, Mitchell definitely has a better college body. Despite Joe C's size though, he can smash people. He put Dustin Menetrey on his back a couple of times his sophomore year.

Thank you, Oldbird. I have done a cursory check and it appears that Mr. Mitchell has quite an extensive dossier.

Perhaps I'm related to Mr. Mitchell. I have quite an extensive derriere. :D

Nice job, Luv. Nothing better than a clever quip. Color me impressed.

Glad you are firmly on the fence and not taking a side on that question.

How about over wings I ask the question again, you can tell me your real thoughts, and then I will let the world know what you really think?

Tough crowd. MM had more of an impact because he played both sides of the ball very well (at least in the 41075 zip code). Joe C has played exceptionally on one side of the ball. I'd take either and win with them. Joe is a better pass defender while MM is a better run stuffer. Better?

By the way, the way you slurp your wings, you'd never hear a word I said.

Mitchell was a game changer on both sides of the ball. Castaneda isn't a game changer on both sides. Guess who I pick???????:ylsuper: :ylsuper:

Just wanted to jerk your chain a bit.

This is sort of a "one arm tied behind his back" situation.

That's because the coach in Park Hills wasn't smart enough to play him on both sides.....:D
