Nelson is a very different team they have won 4 out of their last 6. Scoring 200 points and only allowing 86 in their 4 wins. Meade did beat Nelson in the beginning of the year 45-21, but on the other hand did lose to Greenwood 28-21. Should be a very interesting game.. I am going 28-21 Nelson...

Nelson Co. had 2 maybe 3 fumbles tonight that where close to the redzone if not in the redzone. They played their hearts out, and in the end they came out victorious.. At the end of the game in 2OT Greenwood called a fake field goal instead of kicking the ball. One has to ask: Was he trying to look like a hero making that kind of call? Or Did he not have confidence in taking the 3 points, and putting the game into his D's hands? Not to mention the fake field goal looked like he drew it up in the dirt during the timeout... He tried to pull a LSU with the holder throwing the ball over his head, but the holder just threw it straight to the ground.. Looked as if they had never even practiced the play..

Nelson County looked sharp tonight... Not one to sling mudd, and I know this is coming from a Nelson Co. fan point of view, but the coaches at Greenwood need to remember to teach their kids class. At one point in the night I saw a player give the finger to the fans.

Then I will start my own theard at a better time.

Before you flame on me.. I didn't say Bruner at al.. I said coaching staff.. I don't want to start naming coaches. But there was a kid that had a great game last week and after the game the father of a different kid was upset that his kid didn't play and guess what his kid played all game tonight..

Good job Nelson. Set aside from the game the powers at hands here in Nelson need to take a look at some of the coaching staff to see who is still be influenced by "whiney" parents.

Yeah, Nelson Co. looked really impressive in the first 3 quarters, but everybody that has ever seen a football game knows that there are 4 and not to just 3 quarters. Half time Nelson lead 7 to 6. Tates creek wasn't that impressive until about the end of the third and most of the 4th that is when they scored the most. Nelson County's offense looked really well passing the ball. Hope they do it more. At the end of the game they had about 4 passes completed to Cam downs a Senior running back/reciever. Good win Tates, stay strong Cardinals.

When I was leaving the Bardstown/Nelson game there was about 1:21 left and I remember looking at the clock and it was 9:15..

I don't think we should change the quarterback.. Keene is a very talented young man.. But I do believe to play at the level he is playing he needs to grow up FAST.. Just like you said he needs to look where he is throwing the ball.. And I don't fault Bruner for going to Boone, but for god sake can we get a few more plays except Boone up the middle.. Boone to the left.. Bone to the middle..Punt.. give me a break.. We need to throw on first down and switch things up..

What improved? The offense lacked the fire from the get go.. For the second week and a row.... Don't get me wrong I love the cardinals and our defense is playing their hearts out. But, the offense we are running just isn't working.. Something needs to change and change fast... You can't give the ball to your fullback 25 of the 30 offensive plays and hope to win against a team that is fast as Bardstown...

Nelson Co. had a change in the helmet this year... No more N with big red numbers. Now we have the Louisville Cardinal head and small numbers with an American flag gracing the back of the helmet. Looks sharp.. Look for Nelson to have all new uniforms next year..

I shouldn't have directed that comment directly at coach Mason, where I do believe Mason is a great coach. From what I hear he had problems with the coaching staff as a whole pushing him to be better.. He was immature at the time, and didn't understand why the coaching staff was "Yelling" at him..

The two tackles are Chris Simpson a sophmore transfer student from Elizabethown.. I think he attened T.K. Stone as a middle schooler.. The other kid is nicknamed Dino.. Don't know his story just that he played when he a freshmen didn't like coach Mason and quit and now tha Mason is gone he is back.. Realistic: Bardstown 21.. Nelson 7 Hopeing for: Nelson 28- Bardstown 21 I don't think Nelson will give up more then 21 points to Bardstown, yes they are fast but Nelson has a great defense.. Butler did most of it's scoring in the 1st half and they have some extremely fast kids.

BE is a good team.. Just as long as the limit mistakes.. BE wins 21-13.

First off I said 1000-3000 not knowing the exact number. I guess your right, a school of 700-800 boys is pretty fair playing against schools with 1400-1500 boys. Not to mention the thousands upon thousands of dollars that go into the these private school football programs. Some of the now 4A soon to be 6A are happy to get a few thousand dollars a year. Heck St.X probably spends as much on their mouthpieces as some entire football teams do all season. It's unfair. Until private schools have their own playoffs it will always be a lop-sided tournament.. It's hard enough getting 80 of the 800 boys to play football. I wouldn't doubt that St. X doesn't turn kids away..

Are you serious?? Take Nelson Co for example.. The school has roughly 1,300 kids.. So I am going to guess that the boy/girl is split down the middle so 650 boys MAYBE! Playing against St. X where how many boys attend? 1,500.. 2,000 how is that fair?

This is stupid.. Until they split Private school and Public school tournaments it doesn't really matter... Schools of only 400 to 500 boys shoudln't have to play schools of 1000-3000 boys.. It's Ridiculous..

What does it take to get a team this bad to turn around?

I have often wondered why Atherton always has bad seasons.. Can someone enlighten me?

I wouldn't have a problem playing for a losing team year in and year out.. that shouldn't be the question.. The question is could you play for a school that doesn't seem to care about football. It would be extremely hard to play for a team such as Atherton which gets murdered every year in every aspect of football. How could you play for team that doesn't try to get better? Not saying it's the kids fault, but what about having support from your school and administration.. Shoudn't the ultimate goal be to have a winning season..
