It shouldn't matter what class a player is in or how well he is being recruited. It truly should be based on one kids ability to play the game and how well he does that against the competition he has.

Somerset and John Cole should make some noise due to the core of senior leadership and big game experience. Somerset did lose QB Ross Deaton along with 6 senior linemen, 3 of which were starters. Should be fun to see who will sling the ball this season. RB Kenny Hughes is a good blocker with speed and decent hands, look for him to carry the load out of the backfield and finish games.

I wouldn't want to see Allin as Somersets new coach. IMO he is just not head coach material.

Coach Lucas is a possibility. He is already within the system and has experience as a head coach.

Somerset will be attending the Thursday scrimmages.

The somerset football players, boosters and fans will all miss Coach Cobb. I've talked to some players and they're not really happy with the decision but they all respect his decision. Good luck to him at Henderson County!

Cobb is good at getting players out. We have averaged 35-40 kids on the roster for the past 4 years.

Cobb has been known to take mediocre programs and turn them into regional contenders.

The job was at Henderson County, word around there is that he had applied for the job and was the most likely candidate. According to a source, he turned his resignation paperwork into the administration office at Somerset this morning. I have talked to many of the Somerset senior players and they are not happy. Coach Cobb was well liked by the players and fans. If this is how it plays out, their will be many disappointed players and fans.

Somerset vs Southwestern Somerset vs Pulaski County Southwestern vs Pulaski County A good district rivalry that went on for 4 years was Somerset vs Harlan. I'm sure DragonNG73 will agree with me that these games were usually very rough, very hard hitting and there is no love between these teams. I know myself and DragonNG73 had some good battles on the line!

Nathan Parkey will be playing for the University of the Cumberlands. The funny thing is he was a soccer player in HS, he wasn't on the golf team.
