IMO I would also take the 16th over the 9th or 10th. Oh, I am sorry Stripes3 I am just trying to be as sarcastic as you but I do not possess your talents. I also do not possess your dislike of the Faulkner twins which is what your last two comments are directed at in a round about way isn't it? Your track record shows this and they are in the 16th and are young talents.

Stripes3, I am sorry I do not get what you are implying here at all. It seems you take your comments one way while everyone else see it another. So if I say one kid plays hard with heart & guts the way the game should be played I am implying that others do not??? How silly is that??? Or is it only this way when someone is complimenting the Faulkners??? That seems to be your only beef!! Give the kids their credit! No they may not start in other regions but they would most definitely be first guards off the bench in 90% of the state!!

Stripes3, I agree with what you are trying to say about over hyping players but that goes on everywhere & not just the 16th. To do it with using the Faulkners as an example is definitely not a true picture. These kids have proven themselves very well no matter what age group. Didn't they just help lead Elliott to a 16th region runner-up? Which is against a lot of 16-18 year olds. I think it would be safe to say some of the teams they played had kids who will be 19 before graduation or so thereafter just like the Faulkners!

So, what does that have to do with the fact they are sophmores to be & therefore are playing with the correct group. If they are holdbacks or not I do not know, but I do know they will not be 16 until sometime in June. This would then mean they graduate at age 18. If they had not stayed back (if in fact they did) they would have been 17 at graduation. Why is this always the sore spot with everyone when it comes to the Faulkners! I assure you there are many in the state who will graduate a lot older that the Faulkners will be at graduation. I know 2 on the most recently announced all state team who will be 19 long before thieir graduation date!

Stripes3, Have you seen the Ferguson kid play very much? if you have you would have noticed his physical strength, overall athletic ability along with his shot both around the bucket & the "3". Never mind he is only 6'1 or so trust me he gets big time minutes in region 11! He may not start but gets big time minutes. I have watched 11th for a long time & this kid can play there as a freshman. One thing he can do that most 6'4' athletes in that region cannot do is shoot & score!

Does anyone know why he did not play in the East - West game?

Hatcher also coached in Williamson, Wv & won a championship or two there. In addition to this he also coached at Marshall Co here in Ky and took them to quite a few state tournaments.

I do not know anything behind the scenes but based on the court they would be foolish to let him go. Very impressed with his teams "D" and how hard they play. Very fundamental team

I will take Russell but they better be prepared for another team who plays very aggressive D and plays very hard.

IMO they are overated based on this poll that started this thread, which put them at 8th. There are some teams listed below them that are better.

I would say there is not a front runner or top 2 or 3 at this time. There are a lot of good players to choose from. Walls & Haddix from Scott Co. Proffitt & Hammonds from SL along with Vanhoose fo Russel, Knowles of GRC Pettigrew of E'town. I am sure the teams in L'ville will produce a player or two. Wide open!

Exactly! the most selfish act I have ever heard about on the high school level! This official should be ashamed of himself!!! Know matter what he says about standing up for what is right he will never convince me it is nothing more than selfish and all about himself. You are not doing this for your livelihood! and you are not on the professional level! Think of the kids you hurt and not yourself!!!

I would not put Mason, Hazard or Boyle above Russell! Mason is way overated and will lose the first game as most likely will Hazard even though their draw isn't bad. Russells record is not a good indicator of their team.

How did Scoot Co loose such a big lead so late? I'm sure MC got back into with some good D & scoring but did Scott Co style of play,missed free throws or anything else contribute?

Elliott Co. had a horrible 1st half. They got out rebounded 25 to 10 in that 1st half. But in the 2nd half Elliott picked up there intensity and caused 18 turnovers and came back within 2 within a minute, but they could never hit the shot to tie or go ahead. Congradulations Russell. Way to never give up Elliott and a great season.

About the refs, i think that Billman called a great game, but Hall and Greenhill had some horrible calls and didnt have a good game at all. Thats just my opinion.
