Graves has hit 13 of 18 from the field, while Russell has hit 4 of 20. The opening round has not been kind to Graves County in the past but that looks to change this year.

Graves County's size inside is killing Russell. Zach Sims has 18 of GC's 32 points. Russell also having trouble dealing with GC's defensive pressure.

Russell is making their first state tourney appearance since 1972, when they beat Breathitt County for their only touurney win.

 

Graves County has not won a first round game since 1997 when they beat Mason County in the first round. That was their only first round win.
