Bleed Blue1
With the '06 season drawing to a close, who will be the contenders for the 2007 Mr. Basketball award?
sweet16
OJ Mayo Oh did he transfer somewhere, I wasn't sure. I haven't heard anything about it.
NEERFAN
I'd say Knowles from GRC would have to be high on the list, Todd Jacobs from CovCath and Mike Hester from SK, Duran Jefferson and Austin Hill from Holmes should be in the top 15 or so. HDE
Ty Proffitt from South Laurel would be the obvious choice from the 13th Region, but after seeing them play, I think Jordan Hammonds may be just as good.
Stripes3
I know this is a predominantly pro-eastern Kentucky and 16th region messageboard, but to leave out 6'5" Stephone Pettigrew of Etown is insane.
Your Daddy
Matt Walls - Scott County Rodney Haddix - Scott County

Qryche11
Haddix from Scott Co or possibly Austin Hill if he can lead the Bulldogs to the title.....
cch5432
A lot of these players, such as Haddix, Walls, Proffit, and even Hill are on teams that are too talented for him to pile up incredibly high statistics. At this point I would say the person with the best shot is Pettigrew.

Hammonds has improved his game tremendously this season as opposed to last.

At this point I would say the person with the best shot is Pettigrew. That won't matter. Rick Jones won it at Scott Co. averaging 18 points a game. Walt Allen will probably win it this year and his numbers are not that great. Personally I like Pettigrew as the top pick but I'm not figuring the politics in. gold sunrise
I too will say Preston Knowles of GRC will be high on the list.
Milhouse
I would say there is not a front runner or top 2 or 3 at this time. There are a lot of good players to choose from. Walls & Haddix from Scott Co. Proffitt & Hammonds from SL along with Vanhoose fo Russel, Knowles of GRC Pettigrew of E'town. I am sure the teams in L'ville will produce a player or two. Wide open! Is Stephon a junior or senior??? I believe this award is for Seniors only if I am not mistaken.
BigStud
Austin Hill definently put his name in consideration with his performances after the debacle.
