  1. This is going back a few few years but the most disappointing loss for me was in 1969, I was just a wee one and my brother was playing. I didn't understand football but had never experienced a loss being a HHS fan. It was the Dixie game at home, don't remember much of the game, just remebering we lost and good ole Vi Gerding hugged me and told me that it was all a part of the game, we had to learn to lose to enjoy the winning...
  2. How is the bird that was injured right before halftime?
  3. I truly believe...my best friend's fiancee passed away during his sleep at 35 years old on my living room floor on my daughter's 9th birthday. My daughter found him not breathing in the morning. My daughter and "Randy" were best buds. Uncle Randy, as she called him, was idolized by her at this young age, he always laughed at her stupid nine year old jokes, etc... About 2 months after he died, my daughter started talking about Uncle Randy standing at her bedside at night. He told her he was there to protect her and keep her safe. After about a month of her not wanting to go to bed, it kind of scared her a bit, my best friend came down and spent the night and "talked" to Randy and told him he was scarring her and if he wanted to protect her he would have to do it from afar. He has never returned to my daughters room...she is now 17 years old.
  4. Not to change the subject of the thread, but does the fastpitch softball team still play their games in "Death Valley". We played our games there many years ago when I was a bluebird and just a couple of years ago my daughter's softball team played HHS in the valley. That hill was ten times worse for us old folks going down and then up, ahhh!
  5. Better see your doctor, not only is flu season about to erupt, mono seems to be running rampid in our area...symptoms are alot like the flu, starts with sore throat, fever and all over feeling yuck...
  6. I really have never understood the whole switching sides either. As for yelling during the serve, if a player is concentrating on the game, the whole noise element shouldn't matter. Just the same as a basketball player at the foul line, should we quiet the gym for them too????
  7. I totally agree and sure hope that the AD from PC along with some of the administration was at the game and witnessed it. There is a reason why we only have 18-20 players on the field, maybe now the "real" reason kids at PC didn't play the game will be seen. I have been a huge supporter of all the PC atheletes and hate to see their reputation tarnished in this way. To the Nicholas Co QB and team and fans: this PC fan will be praying for you and a speedy recovery.
  8. It will be a long time before Pendleton takes state in basketball...IMO the best chance they had of winning was in 2006 with Belcher, Verax, Mains, Elliott and Elrod. Don't see that much talent coming up soon. Just wish more kids would get involved in all sports at Pendleton.
  9. Way to go PC...you guys are awesome! I know that it has been discussed here before, heart vs talent. PC has some talent but they have the biggest hearts/will I have ever seen on a team.
  10. Just a big Congratulations to the ladycats golfers, 1st time in school history to the big state tourney...way to go ladies. Good Luck!!:dancingpa
  11. Same thing here in Pendleton Co., county dry, city of Falmouth wet...
  12. My heart says PC by 7, my gut is still undecided. Those 18 players have the biggest heart that I have ever seen on a field. If the protection is better for the QB then PC for sure. Go Cats!!!!
  13. Health and Life insurance agent...
  14. They have installed warning lights for that reason. I have seen cars speed up when the lights start flashing so that they can beat the red light and try to skim past under the yellow light. I have travelled the AA since it opened every day of the week and love it. It is nice to set the cruise and drive on a road that isn't a two lane with bad curves and dips like Rt 8.
  15. If my memory serves me right, this should be the sixth year of football for PCHS. But only the fifth year of varsity play.
  16. Used to be a Godfather's out in the Erlanger/Ft Mitchell area back in the 80's. Good pizza, miss it...
  17. Prayers for you too, right there with you. just spent 2 days in hospital for the old gallbladder too...awaiting surgery as we speak, can definitely feel your pain.
  18. I saw a station in No Ky last night back up to $3.04/gallon...
  19. I respect the fact that "we" are adults and can spend our monies pretty much anyway we see fit and if you want to participate in that type of lifestyle then I will be the first to say that is your choice. But when you are an instructor in my child's life (and that is a big part of my child's life) then I feel that the right to do drugs as you see fit, goes away. I remember a teacher I had in high school, science I think, that was nicknamed Mr. Cocaine. We could get away with anything during his class and I can say I didn't learn a thing from him. He spent most of the time spaced out at his desk and it was more like study hall than an actual class. I do believe he was fired after I graduated for being arrested for drugs...when I look back we(the students) thought it was funny whenever he was out of it and took full advantage of our "free" time...
  20. Prayers from Pendleton Co., such another tragic loss.
  21. My daughter's high school has a no touch policy also but the enforcement of this rule drops off after the first 2 months of the school year...too many other things that go on...
  22. csh81, just looked at list and had the same thoughts...
  23. Would never boo a coach or player, have expressed my dissapointments to the coaches and try my best to do it in constructive ways but not at the time of the game/play. Being a coach in the past I have seen and been tested by some of "those" parents.
  24. Glad to hear, will keep her in prayers...
  25. I took my daughter to watch her pitch and my daughter was just itching to get in the batter's box, would love to try and hit off her...play in two different regions and the only way this will happen is if we can get to the regional next year, which is good possibility... she is amazing coming off the wood...just like watching college on espnu...
