:thumb: After watching Letcher beat Knott the other night , they really showed me that they can handle pressure and knock down contested shots. Estill couldn't of asked for a better draw coming up as a runner-up. I see a Hazard and Knott final but could just as well be a PCC and Letcher final.

:thumb: These are the top notch players in the tournament. There may be a few more but these are the ones that have stood out all year. I would just add Whitaker -Hazard

What type of defense did PCC play to keep Whitaker from driving and dishing. He is one of the best at getting inside the lane and kicking to someone open.

Drawing is Sunday and it starts Wednesday.

This will be interesting. Especially if 56th draws the 55th. First round could be the best games.

Anytime you play under 50 points your playing PCC ball. Big win.

Great Game. No quit by either team. Everyone knew that Cackling was going to get the ball for the final shot in OT but Wise read the play and denied him the ball. I thought he read it perfect(he played over top the staggard screens). Really like Charles and the way he went to get the ball and take the game over. Lee struggled the entire time that Charles didn't have it in his hands.

Sound like the best game of the night. I would of loved to seen the heated game. Congrats to a good Leslie team beating a good PCC team.

IMO this will hurt Mountain Basketball. This is one of the best rivals and taking it away with the addition of all the shift in districts are hurting rivalries. Most big rivalries bring big crowds and media attention because it seems to mean just a little more than just a seasonal game. I also understand that kids sometimes get out of hand but nothing that didn't happen years in the past.

Owls versus Engineers in Irvine Thursday Night . I am taking the Owls by 9. Should be a good game.

All I said is that they have a bright future. I never commented on Coach Wilson and his coaching, thats all I am going to say about that. All I wanted to say was that anytime there are that many young players on a team playing against varsity competition and play that hard the entire game then they have to be alright in the future. I agree though he coaches no matter what the score is.

Most of red Bird's starters are 8th and 9th Graders. I was told they didn't have middle school team this year due to all the players were playing so much JV and Varsity time.

:thumb::thumb: Parrot was coach at Owsley pulling of an upset in the district as #4 seed beating Lee first game at a #1 seed. They didn't have the best record for the season but imo with his system, tenacious practices and time to get his system in(which he left Owsley after one year) he will be a good head coach for boys' basketball as he was in girls at Jackson County. North Laurel is a great place to do it.

Red Bird is definitely a young team and has a bright future if all the kids stay at Red Bird. Does anyone know if Coach Parrot is still assistant at North?

While in Leslie, aka Couch County, you can eat at the Couch Cafe or if you are low on gas or just want a snack just roll on into Couch Gas Station, but be careful the speed limit is still just 55mph on the Couch Parkway. :laugh: :lol:

I love seeing these mountain boys get the expose they deserve. Great article. Good thing 20/20 wasn't the interviewer or it would of all been negative.

They have a real nice freshmen team. I watched them get beat by Letcher's Freshmen team in a Knott Co. tournament by one and then Letcher beat Knott in the finals by one ,so they have a bright future within the next 3 years.

Letcher and (more than likely) Knott in the finals. It being at Knott almost assures it for Knott but thats why they play the game.

Are there more "pressure" on a coach to win with a team that is expected to win or a coach expected to start building a team for winning in a short time? One and out for coaches. There are coaches hired and fired every year for both. I was just wondering, which one has the most pressure.I am going to say a coach that is already expected to win imo.
