  1. Scrimmage scores are useless in my opinion. That being said, Trinity wins this game easily against a Colerain team that while down, has improved much the past couple of weeks.
  2. You are likely right but birds fans have to be worried about lack of offensive scoring in the first two scrimmages.
  3. They are counting the time when both teams had their jv in. Varsity periods went to HHS.
  4. The X schedule is brutal. Not many teams would go .500 against it and X certainly may not. Having Glines back will help the offense quite a bit but they still have to figure out the QB position.
  5. Is this being played like a game or are they doing 10 plays per team and switching?
  6. Justin Hilliard is the #1 LB in the country but isn't supposed to play tomorrow. They also have RB Ben Glines who is committed to Boston College who is also not playing. Defense should be very solid but the offense will be questionable as they are possibly starting a sophomore QB.
  7. I don't know about Hilliard, however I do know that starting running back Ben Glines (Boston College) will not be playing due to the injured hand.
  8. I am not sure how it's going to be done but St. X is splitting their squad and having another scrimmage at Badin that night as well is my understanding.
  9. Sorry Charlie, no way highlands is the best team in the state and Collins proved that tonight.
  10. St X in OH doesn't give grades. They only used numbers.
  11. Glines and Hilliard have been out for a couple of games now. Neither of them played in Cleveland last week. Hilliard is in a boot and is probable for next week in the playoffs assuming they can actually get in. Glines is out for a few more weeks so he is likely done for the season.
  12. Would love to see the St. X game and the Moeller/Trinity game held in Papa Johns as a double header. Would make for a world record split the pot.
  13. X lost by 3 in OT. X had the ball 4 and goal from the 2 and went for it instead of kicking the FG. They were stopped. Moeller took over and capitalized for the win.
  14. They are 5-4 and their schedule is nothing short of murderer's row. They are a little banged up right now. They are the 11th seed in the playoff chase. They should be in regardless but a win may help them a bit.
  15. Last I checked you still have Elder on you schedule and if you don't think that is a challenge you are out of your mind.
  16. But they didn't and it's happened a couple of times in the last two years. It's almost as though he thinks he is smarter than everyone else. With 1600 boys in the school there has to be one that can kick!
  17. Terrible decision in my opinion. St. X defense played great last night. Moeller only had one offensive TD. The decisions by the coaching staff in the last few minutes of the game were mind boggling. X had the ball up 3 with just under two minutes to go and couldn't get a first down because they tried to run up the middle 3 times. They then had to punt and give Moeller the opportunity to hit a FG for the tie. Credit Moeller for driving and getting the FG necessary for OT. St. X rush for less than 60 yards on the night. Why did Specht think he was going to be able to get a first down that late in the game doing the same thing that hadn't worked all night long??? Hats off to Moeller. They made decisions and plays when it mattered and X didn't. There is a reason they are state champs.
  18. Lloyd on paper appears to be playing well but their schedule has been so weak I can't buy into it. Next week should tell the story.
  19. NKY 2A is so bad outside of NCC that they will have no problem running the table in district play. They won't be challenged in 2A until the second or third round of the playoffs.
  20. Totally agree. KY doesn't produce near the talent per capita in basketball that TX does in football. I also agree that of late, IN is stronger.
  21. NCC is going to be fine. NKY 2A competition isn't good at all and they will totally dominate.
  22. St. Ignatius from Cleveland is always tough and as Moeller showed last year any of the GCL can get hot. As for now, I think Colerain is the team to beat and it's not much of a debate.
  23. Colerain is the real deal. They will run the table from here until the playoffs. Beating Trinity by two touchdowns in Louisville is a very impressive encore to the beatdown they put on Cincinnati St. X last weekend. It's too bad more of the GCL teams in Cincinnati won't play them.
  24. what are their numbers like? Had heard last year there was some frustration with the middle school coaches about the number of kids that actually saw meaningful time on the field. Was curious to know if they lost many, if any kids.
