I predicted 42-7 so this is no surprise. And while it's cliche it was as close as the score indicates.

To be fair to the Colonels injuries have decimated their offense. God bless Ben Dressman and Darlington but they are JV players playing against the top or 2nd best program in the state. They're over their heads AS ALMOST ALL SOPHS WOULD BE. It will benefit them down the road but....

The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of desire by the CCH D to actually hit people. Film will back me up on this. No one wanted to stick their head in there and deliver a blow. You can't have that.

I'd tell the "natives" to go find something else to worry about. Even at full strength CCH is not nearly talented enough to compete with the Birds. Fact.

I DID hear that a few HHS BGPers convinced the back judge that their DB picked off the pass in the end zone late in the first half. It appeared to be a ball on the ground. Nicely done by the BGPers.

I was standing with this "motley crew" and the play was right in front of us.

3 names you will not see in the Highlands stat sheet for interception……sweeperboy, Thunderbird, & raiderbird, as they get “Salesmen of the Year” Award. That ball was on the ground a good 2 seconds but “Larry, Curly, & Moe” went into action immediately and the referees were “buyers of what they were sellin’”. Good job fellas.

The Birds are simply a Machine. Speed, quickness, and rotation of players, they just wear teams down. CovCath has some really nice nice, but too slow to match the Birds. The Hoge kid had one hell of a beautiful run after the catch for a long TD, looked like he was going to be stopped countless times and just kept avoiding tacklers.

Nothing needs to change at CCH. They are doing the right things. The offense lost a lot from last year and then the guys they were counting on are out with injury. The Colonels just need to keep working and keep believing it will happen. I think they will beat Highlands in the next two years.

How many points was that in the first half and how many of the injured players play defense?

I think most reasonable CCH fans expected this. This after all is potentially HHS best Senior class ever(at least a few Bird fans have said that), and CCH can only make this a competitive game with all their missing playmakers. Even then, probably not going to happen.

After the results the last two weeks no sane human being could possibly buy into this Oscar Mayer Bologna.
