Earlier this season I questioned the legitimacy of the height and weight listed for Beau Hoge. Egg on my face. That kid shot up and got thicker. #7 caught a pass in the middle of the field and turned around and instead of trying to dart/juke he simply decided to steamroll the LB/DB. I said "who is that?" Stunned to hear it was Hoge.

 

Hoge really has gotten bigger. I saw him play once in grade school and a couple of times as a freshman and he was really small. but that has changed. I think wide receiver is going to be his position even though I think technically the second string quarterback.

Birds even dominated split the pot. I think Me Fennell(?) won about $500. Almost walked out without checking his ticket.

That TD that he ran in was all him. I have been around him personally enough to know his thought process and how he has been taught to play the game. A true gamer! I think people are forgetting that in 2014 Beau Hoge will play QB at HHS. Everyone got a little preview of what kind of a punishing runner he will be and his arm strength has gotten that much better. Back to a QB at HHS that has the running ability and the knack to read NFL defenses much less High School. Everyone can laugh but I have sat through multiple film breakdowns with Beau and his dad and it's something to be seen. Very impressive! Beau sees things that you just can't teach. Looks like we have another #7 floating around NKY that isn't the only one that can think at another level. Now does Beau have the physical ability and arm strength as him, not even close. But I would like to see Beau go head to head with him on reads and anticipation.

 

The way Beau trains and prepares for games is out of this world. His dad has taught him well. Beau gets it!

Best way I can describe how one sided the game was....

 

The crazies broke out the " Let's play basketball" chant early in the 2nd quarter.

A story I heard from two different people.

 

A CCH DB put out a video proclaiming the DBs as "sharks." Apparently in the video they made a shark fin with their hand holding up 4 fingers. Birds boys saw it and made their response video showing the "shark hand" by CCH and then the "ring hand" by HHS ie wearing state champs rings.

 

If anyone has the links to those videos I'd enjoy checking them out.

I'm sure glad I played in the prehistoric period. Had to drive to the other schools turf to do any smack talking.

I do think the story has some validity though. When Feggins scored the TD he threw up the "shark" sign.

I don't know Eagle- since this is Scott's best year in the history of the school, you could probably tell us a thing or two about hearing the same thing over and over again.

 

I love how other N Ky teams fans jump on CCH when they are a little down and use a game vs Highlands as vindication when there own teams don't even sniff the type of schedule CCH or Highlands plays.

Should there be any concern over the PAT issue? 4 TDs in a row without CCH scoring a XP or a 2-pt conversion.

I did like the way Ben Dressman ran the ball. Tough runner. He's gotten a lot bigger since his frosh year. I admired his toughness. Same for Darlington.
