I have respect for both programs...but will take the ADS at home...been to there place too many times in the playoff and came away with a loss...hard place to win at. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way this season!

What a sad story for this young man who had a bright future ahead of him and now only an uncertain next few months lie ahead for this young man. Question is now what will Scott County do as far as A) letting him back into school, and B) what kind of punishment lies ahead for him on the basketball team...suspension...kicked off...nothing? My opinion you have to set a strong example for the other players and kids in school by not letting him back on the team. I know he is their best player and a top contender for MR. Basketball...but you can not say that just because he is those things that you only give him a slap on the wrist. So we will see what wins out...doing the right thing for your program for not only this year but for years to come or winning on the court this season...will be interesting. On a side note...I hope that Mackey can use this as a learning tool and gets his life straightened out !

I was impressed with Tilghman last week as they are much improved from the team that I saw play Graves County in week 2...I say that Tilghman will win this one 28-7

That is correct...I confirmed it with a high school official and that is the correct call

Very good win for the Cards in this one...nice to see Logan back at QB and seemed to do fine with the injury. Cards defense really stepped up again in containing Tilghman's speed and not letting them break any long runs for touchdows. Also have to compliment the two freshman DeCole Noonan and Javarius Richardson who both played a heck of a defensive game for the Cardinals on Friday night. The whole team played well and deserved the hard fought victory. Now on to Fulton County Friday night for a big district matchup. Great job CARDS!!!

Lone Oak had the opportunity to play both Mayfield and Tilghman this year as both schools called Lone Oak to try and fit in a game this year and Lone Oak said no thanks to both schools...they didn't give a reason so it might have been scheduling conflicts...but like I said they did not give a reason. I do know that when Mayfield asked about a game that both schools had not filled that date...would have been a good game.

I agree Tilghman could be scary good...especially inside. Apparantly their sweet sixteen appearance last year and returning four out of five and eight out of top ten players was not factored in. Right now I say that they are the prohibitive favorites in the 1st Region.

At the start of the season I would have probably agreed wholeheartedly, but Eric Noonan has come in and played quite well and is piling up the tackles since he has come in on a full time basis. Cards depth on the defensive side of the ball has impressed me so far this season. Don't get me wrong Logan is a big loss on the defensive side of the ball...but right now he is needed most on the offensive side of the ball to keep opposing defenses honest. Nothing against Luke Guhy who did a fantastic job and will be a great QB at Mayfield...just nice to have Logan back running the team on offense.

Welcome Big Red-83...and I have heard also that Logan feels as about as well as can be expected and will be at QB this week...but will be held out on defense for the next few weeks.

Hey look at it this way...at least one team from Louisville will win this week at PJCS...I know cheap shot and I will go sit in "timeout" now :cry:

Okay folks...let's hear it for these two longtime rivals to be played this Friday night at Tilghman's McRight Stadium. Tilghman has played a tough schedule and very well could be 4-1 or 5-0; while Mayfield has rolled through their first four opponents. Normally I would say it is Tilghman's speed versus Mayfield's power...this year it is speed versus speed as both teams have speedy tailbacks and a defenses that can fly to the football. Big question will be if Mayfield's quarterback Logan Armstrong is back in the lineup this week after seperating his left shoulder against Graves County two weeks ago or will it be freshman Luke Guhy getting his second straight start. Guhy played very well last week going 12-15 for 215 yards with two touchdowns and one INT. Should be a very big game for both teams heading into the second half of the season. I'll take the Cards in a close one 24-21

If I was Daviess County I would be scouring the soccer team for someone that can kick a PAT so I would not have to go for two points all the time...that really hurt them in this contest...old rule...play for the win on the road and the tie at home and send it to overtime. Big road win by the Eagles after getting shutout last week

Good win for the Cards and it could have been a lot worse, but we lost focus in the second half...but we have to remember these are kids out there playing the game...plus this was a typical "trap" game sandwiched in between Graves and Tilghman on the schedule. But the Cards did what they needed to as they came out with focus in the first half and took control and let up a little in the second half and got some younger players in the game to rest up some of our starters. Levi Pruiett (who had a great first half on D) did not play in the second half as he is recovering from bronchitis, Coach Morris said this morning that Logan could very well be back this Friday night, and that they do not think that Jake Sweatman's injury is not too bad...but will have to wait and see how it responds. All in all should be okay health wise other than some bumps and bruisies...hats off to Dr. Williams and Mayfield's Trainer Lance Harper as they were the two busiest guys last night and then again this morning making sure our players stay healthy during the season.

Congrats to the Bulldogs on their great start to the season...nice to see that last seasons ending has not affected them this year. I am looking forward to the showdown at War Memorial in about a month to what should be for home field advantage throughout the playoffs...of course if Mayfield gets past Fulton County in two weeks...don't want to get too ahead of ourselves...but great win and great start to the season.

I agree...plus Calloway County likes to spread the ball around as well and I gotta feeling this will be the best offense that the Flash have seen. Should be a good game...but if everyone is healthy for Calloway I like the Lakers to win this one

I wish it was the case, but with the new alignment they would have to meet in the semi-finals instead of on the turf at Papa John's...too bad...although Frankfort and LCA might have something to say. But a great win for the CARDS Friday night against the Eagles.

I just checked the KHSAA site and right now Mayfield is the only 1A school to have beaten a 6A school. The Cards will have another shot at beating a 6A school later in the year when they take on Marshall County. I wonder if any other class A schools play two 6A schools in the same year.

I believe that LCA should be in the talk for the 1A title once the postseason rolls around...I believe that all 1A teams should wait until the end of the regular season and that start of postseason to talk about being a 1A title contender...and I say that because with the size of most 1A teams one or two key injuries and it puts your season into serious jeopardy. But IF all teams are healthy heading into postseason I feel like there are a handful of teams that have a legit shot including Beechwood, Mayfield, LCA, Pikeville and Frankfort to take home the title in Class A.

Beat Calloway and you will get respect. Hats off to Lone Oak for beating the teams on their schedule but the teams on their schedule are not world beaters by any means.

I have to echo what everyone else said about the game...great win for the Cards Friday night especially since they did it most of the night without Logan...who had a seperated shoulder and according to Coach Morris this morning on his radio show says that they will re-evaluate him Monday and see how bad it hurts and go from there. Great job by the Cards in every aspect of the game and what a job by Freshman QB Luke Guhy...didn't complete any of his two passes, but to come in and take the snaps without any bobbles and fumbles on the handoffs. Not to mention that he was the holder on the FG and pat once Logan got hurt. Once again great win especially since anyone not a true Cardinal fan...and even some that claim to be true Cardinal fans....was predicting a Graves County win last night. This team has some work to do...but the future (barring anymore injuries) looks very bright this year. Just have to make sure that we take care of business Friday night against Crittenden County in district play. GREAT JOB CARDS!!!
