Cov Cath did not leave their starters in they were pretty much all 2nd team by the 4th quarter. Scott should have a good chance against Holmes this week but they need another weapon besides Reyes because I believe Holmes will double team him all over the field this week. Sowder might get his chance to really shine this week. I am just wondering does Scott have a Long-Snapper this year because if they don't find one they are going to be in trouble especially if they pooch-punt all year. Sowder needs to be back his 15 yards this will also help them if they ever decide to fake a punt.

I agree with you there is always a chance and hopefully it is this year. However I do believe the Scott people are making way to much out of starting 2-0 against a 1st year Varsity program and against a 1A school that lost just about everyone from a decent team last year. Let's all just see what happens starting tonight.:thumb::thumb:

He could wear his gear to school as long as he don't forget to wear his badge and remembers the secret password to get into the school. I hope the janitors show up tonight after the game to clean up the facility I don't believe they have their volunteer janitors of the last few years to clean up anymore and we know the Administration aren't going to get their hands dirty. GO EAGLES!!!!!

You are right they are a good group of boys. But on your statement about support lacking from the past, check with some parents from last years senior class and they will tell you the only support that was lacking from last years team was the support from the Administration at Scott. Athletic Director did a fine job with support but the rest of the high ups were lazy and non-supporting the only thing they worried about was the students wearing their ID badges.:thumb::thumb:

Don't be to sure until you prove it. Eagles made play-offs last year, let's see if they do it this year. As far as being in a much better place than in years past what do you mean by that. Come on people just because they painted the floor in the locker-room and put a logo in the middle of the floor this does not make them a better team. There is always a boost in moral for a while when there is a coaching change and you get off the season with 2 wins but now the real test begins over the next few weeks let's see what happens before we say these Coaches are the greatest. I hope they are and they turn it around because I love Scott.

I would love to see the Eagles pull off a victory over Cov Cath but I am going to remain optimistic about this game I don't see it happening because to me Scotts offense is 1 dimensional this year they can run and pound it but they really can't throw it that well.If you can't throw it well against Walton and Dayton it isn't going to happen against Cov Cath. I am sure Cov Cath will stack the box and take away the runs and contain Reyes and Bruner from getting outside this will force Scott to put it in the air more than they want to. Eagle fan for life but I don't see them beating the Cov Cath and Highlands team this year. However I do give them strong chances against a weaker than ever Dixie team and also a better Holmes team this year.

I believe you are probably right. I just think that the Coach could have been a little more polite about kicking them off the sidelines. To say they are not part of the team was a little harsh. I understand they are not a part of the team this year but they will always be a part of the Eagles team from the past and like I said they should not be treated like kids anymore and the Coach could have showed more respect towards them and politely asked them to leave the sidelines. I want everyone to know this was not Coach Campbell that was involved it was one of his assistants. I wish them luck the rest of the way this year and in the future, but I will not be attending or supporting the Eagle Football Program anymore now or in the future.

I understand what you are saying about it being a distraction but when they are just standing there behind the bench on the track which really isn't the sideline I don't believe they should have to leave especially if they are not doing anything wrong. As for wanting to do something for the program I have done more for that program probably than anyone else in the history of the program financially and voluntary but that was in the past and I can tell you one thing they will not see another dime from me or get anymore voluntary help ever. I went to school their and so did my wife and I have had kids graduate from there that played the game for the Eagles. I am just suggesting that they should support their alumni a little better and treat them like adults and not kids !!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to the Eagles on their 2-0 start. In 2 weeks though I believe the Eagles will know where their football team stands when powerhouse Cov Cath comes to the Eagles Nest for a game. This will show Scotts Coaches what they need to work on and improve on. I am not saying they won't have a chance to win but this will be the first test of the year. One other thing that I would like to stress to all Scott Coaches is when you have alumni come to games to support the team don't run them off the sideline especially when they aren't doing anything wrong.

I agree Scott should win this one. The two teams last year were much better and had alot more fire power on offense. So I believe this years game comes down to defense and I give a slight edge to Scott with Reyes and Bruner on the defensive side.

Reyes will be the leading tackler by a large margin. Bruener will be a solid fullback on offense, only time will tell on Trevor he has a tendacy to get injured to often but if he can stay healthy he will help tremendously on defense.

Sowder is not as fast as everyone thinks he is. Sometimes he does make good cuts and gets loose but I would bet as far as speed there are lots of people on the Eagles team that are faster. Quarterback and receiving will hurt the Eagles this year. Keep it on the ground with Reyes and Brunner and things will happen.

I heard the Eagles are running the Highlands offense especially alot of misdirection plays. Scott probably will not be able to throw the ball this year as much as last so this offense might be good for the Eagles. I hope they run the Reyes kid out of the back field with his speed and cutting ability he could be real dangerous in that position especially if the Brunner kid is the full back to clear the way for Reyes.

Can someone please tell me how Scott did in their first scrimmage against Lloyd I was unable to attend and haven't heard much about the scrimmage. I did hear the Freshman team looked good under their new coach.

I don't know what is going on with the team but I can tell you the football field looks like crap. Definately know 1 thing the parents from last year I guess are not there no more because that field was emaculate last year. I am ashamed the way the field looks this year I guess there are no parents involved with the program this year like in the past. Totally embarrassing I probably will not attend any games this year.

I think it is a reach to put Dixie in the top 10 at number 8. Dixie lost all of its offense from last year from the quarterback to the receivers, runningbacks and kicking game. Connor Brock will be all that Dixie has this year, probably will finish 4th in their Districts just ahead of Scott or Holmes maybe.

Scott will be fine in 09. They did lose some talent from last years team but there will be some newcomers to the mix this year. Joe Adkins from the JV Level will make his Varsity debut in 09 at first base. Zach Sowder will become the full-time second baseman and EJ Murray will be the shortstop again and anchor the infield. Logan Taylor will probably get his chance to start at third base this year. The outfield will consist of Nick Hiller and Taylor Smith with a question mark of who the third outfielder will be. Scott lost their best defensive outfielder in Hankinson to graduation so 1 outfield position might be up for grabs in 09. The biggest question mark Scott will have is the catching position. Pitching staff will be anchored by EJ Murray but with the help of Hiller, Sowder, Sparks, Lofland, and Osborne.

Scott will have trouble this year at the Quarterback position. No Varsity experience at all they must develop a Quarterback or it could be a long season in Taylor Mill. Best all around player on Scott's team seems to be Kyle Bruener the kid can run, and hit with the best of them. This season could be a long one again for the Eagles but with this new coaching staff and if the kids really want it they could win at least 4 games this year. Give Coach Campbell time and I believe he will make the turn with this Program and the future could be bright for the Eagles.

Kenton County Board of Education of course. I believe I heard somewhere they are sewing it in for about $25,000 of course this could be hearsay. Painting it would be alot cheaper than this wouldn't it ?

The field does look awesome. However I do believe Soccer will get to use it to won't they. As for the other up-grades I doubt if that will happen very soon because I hear they have to get turf for Scott next year.

I don't believe I said nothing about him not being a good shortstop. I just said he wasn't even the best shortstop on Scott's team. Next year he will definately be the best on Scott's team but I doubt if he will be the best in the Region, this is my opinion and I am sticking to it.:ylsuper:

There is no doubt Nichols won pitcher of the year in the 9th region, probably wasn't even close he was definately the best around this area by far. That is probably why he is playing division 1 in college.

Jacob Reyes from Scott will definately be their best player on the field this year. Scott lost way to much to talent from last years team to compete in the district this year. Coach Campbell though will have the Eagles competing week-end and week-out and who knows in a couple of years under the new coach and his staff they might be able to compete in the district.

I would like to get an an answer on how EJ Murray from Scott was voted the best SS when he wasn't even the best SS on his own team this year. Granted EJ is a decent SS but has very limited range and an average arm at best when it comes to throwing runners out when going in the hole. The games I went to this year EJ made errors in I know he had an injury but to me this year Scott was better when EJ was on second and the Adkins kid was at short. Next year I believe EJ will be the best SS at Scott I just don't think he was this year but that is my opinion and I am sticking to it.
