[ Ok, I would give him the benefit of the doubt if he couldnt win with one of them, but to have coached Fugate and Owens and still done nothing with either of them in the Regional tournament, then something is wrong. I could have taken Owens and the rest of the boys and done better in the Region, and I am no coach. Boyd is going to do better this year???????? Wow, OK. By the way, my understanding from a close friend, Owens was a man among boys in the All-star tournaments last year. :thumb: you nailed it there RB. Pratt is a great man and knows alot about bball, but when it comes to a star player it seems he doesn't know how to handle them. He will probably do better this season as a coach because he doesn't have to worry about a star player because he doesn't have one. The Lions will have to function as a team this season and do have the potential to be a decent team this season.

You are correct and i am sure they will welcome him with open arms. What alot of people don't realize is that Ramey is part of the BC school system, and when kids go into foster care they are encouraged to play sports by their social workers.

If it is such a joke, why don't you take foster kids and see how well it goes for you. Plus, how is it a joke to try and show a kid that there is a better way of life that what they have been brought up in, and try to help these boys develop into young men. But I guess that is too much to ask of people that are holier than thou.

FYI, you should know these kids situations and how the system works before you go popping off at the mouth. Parents in the county open their homes up to these kids and welcome them as part of their family. I don't see anyone from your school doing this or they would be going there. This is such a lame statement from you that I shouldn't even respond, but as someone who does take these kids in, it infuriates me when people are so ignorant of the whole situation.:fire:

As for a QB change, I would think Joey White would get the nod before Barker. White was the QB for all of spring practice. Doing this would allow Barker and Crisp to be the backs and Joey to keep the ball on options and get around the corners with his speed instead of trying to constantly run up the middle. That way they can leave that area to Crisp, who has been punishing the middle of the field when he runs.

:thumb: If kids want more playing time, then they have to be willing to work for it. I think that is why we are starting to see Ryan Crisp in the backfield more often, hope he continues to work hard so that we can see more of him there.

I don't see how anyone can say that politics or money have anything to do with BC's team. Let's just face it, we don't have as much talent as we have had in the past and Coach Evans is just putting out the best that he has on the field. I haven't noticed any subs or anyone on the bench playing better than any of the starters.

Good beginning for the Lions and Coach Evans. Next week will more of a test and should show what the Lions have.

:thumb: Gotta agree with ya LF13. I have played in a state tourn on just a high school field and watched them at UK and Applebees and it is the best atmosphere at Applebees. The kids love it just because it is a great field and for all the extras. As far as the distractions, how are they any different than the field crew dragging the field in between innings during college games, which several of the kids will be enjoying next season. This all sounds like sour grapes to me and just some other reason to blame a loss on something other than the real reasons. My team lost and it wasn't for any distractions, we just ran into a hot pitcher and didn't play very good defense. But at least our girls did win the Ice Cream Eating contest, so BC didn't come away totally on the losing side :banana: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Congrats to Boyd Co an a great season. They just ran into a pitcher who was on fire and our bats just didn't come through for us. Plus PRP made less mistakes during the game than we did, which usually in the post season the team with the fewest mistakes wins. I really think that the quality of teams, other than the Raceland game, that we played in the post season leading up to the state tournament seemed to hurt us a little bit. But we played our hearts out against PRP, who looks as if they could win the championship, just wish it were us moving on instead. Justin Moore came out and really pitched with alot of heart tonight and got better as the game went on. He pitched well enough to win, but so did Cox from PRP.

I think that it was a combination of both. BC was obviously dominate in every facet of the series, and quite honestly, I wasn't very impressed with Sheldon Clark. They had some kids who could put the bat on the ball, but were very weak in the field and on the mound.

Unfortunately it is. BC could have scored 40 tonight had the coach not held his runners and substituted freely. The reserves were even hitting the ball well. Sheldon Clark was just totally overmatched in this sectional tournament.
