Boyd saw a pitcher tonight that was absolutely on fire. He was trowing 90 to 92 the first 4 innings and 87 the last inning. Great season lions. You have nothing to be ashamed of. You seniors now have memories to last a lifetime about your high school sports. Congratulations!!!!!:dancingpa

Sounds like Sophomore Zack Cox was outstanding for PRP. Anytime you can get a shutout, with no walks in a State Tournament game, against a quality team like Boyd County, you've done an outstanding job.

 

10 K's and that tight slider or curve, combined with 90's will make it tough on any team.

 

A great match-up and many speculated, the winner of this game had a real chance to be in the championship game and even win the title.

Both pitchers were on tonight. Boyd just could not string any hits together. They had one chance to score with a runner on second with no outs. They moved him over with a sacrifice bunt. But he was left on base.

Yes, only a Sophomore and if memory serves me correctly, he was at Taylor County at one time. Can you imagine the potential in the next few years, not to mention this feat.

Cox faced several excellent hitters from Boyd County and I'm sure some people left feeling, they struggled hitting but give the credit to PRP and especially Cox, he beat a very, very good hitting team.
