  1. Boyd wins again against a good LC team who kept battling all night, taking advantage of BC miscues. BC jumped out to a 6-0 lead early but LC battled back to make a game of it. Good win for the Lions.
  2. Great job for Perkins tonight. In 2 appearances against LC this season, he has thrown 7 innings of hitless ball.
  3. I'm not sure they could have kept threads open long enough in those days. All BC and Ashland posters would have prob been suspended
  4. I think this hiring was one of the worst kept secrets around. Hope Roger has as good a run this time around as he did in previous years. It will be interesting to see what other coaches he surrounds himself with. I wouldn't be suprised to see a big overhaul from 6th grade on up.
  5. Boyd seems to be a different team win 1 of our big 3 pitches. They change the whole dynamic of the game. But BC needs to come out ready to play every game, no matter who is pitching. That did not happen against Russell and BC had to pay for it.
  6. I too hope that Cov Cath is invited back next season. Seems like they always have a quality team, good coaching and good fans. Each game we play against each other is usually a good one.
  7. If I'm not mistaken a couple of the hits were solid line drives, esp the one from Branham to tie it up. But oh well hits are hits and wins are wins. But you are correct, House did pitch very well as did our pitcher, Greg Bowling. This game was just a very enjoyable game to watch between 2 good teams.
  8. Maybe, he was a righty who threw alot of junk ball pitches. He was very effective until the 6th inn as he held us to only 1 hit. He may have just ran out of gas, esp if he threw last night also.
  9. Apparently this guy is trying to get this thread closed. Boyd was just flat out better, Raceland appeared to be undermanned as they only had 10 players. When they were warming up a relief pitcher, the coach was warming him up until a kid came out of the stands to help. On a down note though, I couldn't help but notice the screaming fit that Vanderhoof put on his players before the game. He was in their faces screaming for all he was worth. I'm not sure if he was trying to pump them up or not, but from where I was sitting it seemed to be a little excessive.
  10. If I am not mistaken his number was 4 but can't remember name
  11. Boyd pulls this one out with a 4 run 6th inning to defeat Cov Cath. Once again BC got great pitching from Greg Bowling and some timely hitting in the 6th inning.
  12. Boyd Co kicks off the Derby Classic in fine fashion with a 10-0 mercy rule win. The lions got great pitching from Tyler Perkins and great production from the bottom of their lineup led by Ryan Crisp with a HR & 3 RBI's, Greg Bowling with 3 RBI's, and Justin Moore with 2 RBI's. It was a good sign for Boyd to get this win coming off a dissappointing performance against Ashland. Great job Lions and keep it up.
  13. I think it would be more embarrassing as a coach for a team to make outs on purpose than to get beat that badly.
  14. This region is Boyd's to lose, and not to sound too confident, but when it comes to tournament time, the only team to beat Boyd will be Boyd themselves. Other than that, it seems as though alot of the teams in the region are young, and Boyd will be in that category next season. The playing field may just level out next season.
  15. Should be a blowout, Ashland is too young to really compete. Hopfully BC won't overlook them, cause we all know what can happen then.
  16. ?????? Please elaborate because I have no clue what you are talking about. The game went exactly as I posted. There was no pun intended and I was not pointing at anyone. Personally, I didn't agree with Ryan being pulled. Drops happen and they are just part of the game. Besides, there were several other errors committed by others.
  17. Another strong pitching outing for the Lions as Greg Bowling throws a 1 hit shutout. He had a perfect game going until a 1 out double in the 5th ended the perfecto and the no no. The Lions bats were still clicking as they put up 10 runs, led by a 3 for 3 effort from Casey Branham.
  18. Boyd takes the opener of their Spring Classic tournament in impressive fashion. They got great pitching out of Tyler Perkins, who threw a complete game, and the bats stayed hot. The only downer of the evening was that the defense wasn't as crisp as they have been lately. If I'm not mistaken, all 3 runs they gave up to GC were unearned. Other than that, great game Lions and keep the good play up.:dancingpa
  19. Another impressive win for the Lions. Rowan figured to be ready for this game since they took a hard loss in the season opener, but Boyd would not hear of it. Keep it going Lions.
  20. Great job Lions. With our pitching and if our def and off keeps clicking, it could spell trouble for area teams.
  21. They beat Harrison Co 2-0 and lost to Lex Cath 7-3
