Unfortunately it is. BC could have scored 40 tonight had the coach not held his runners and substituted freely. The reserves were even hitting the ball well. Sheldon Clark was just totally overmatched in this sectional tournament. It was a great game for the Lions last night with Justin Moore dominating on the mound and BC's batters absolutely stinging the ball, esp leadoff hitter Kyle Potter who has carried his hot bat over from the regions to the sectionals and setting the tone for the LION EXPRESS

Your not prejudice, you are correct. Raceland would be advancing also if they were playing Sheldon Clark. I was not impressed with them at all last night, but as they say, today is a different day. BC needs to come out and play with the same intensity that they had last night and take care of business. Game is at 7:00 and should be on 1080 AM

They had better learn to play as a team real quick because they don't have quite the talent as they have had the past few years. But they do have the potential to be good if they can play as a team, any team does. Hopefully if Evans is the coach he can accomplish this b/c I absolutely hate to see us lose.

South Laurel will sweep it in 2 games, they are a much better team than Powell.

:thumb: That is the absolute truth. Raceland has nothing to be ashamed of and the 2 games played between them this season just shows how equally matched they are. I wouldn't be suprised to see a rematch of this game next season for the Regional championship.

Hopefully by State Tourn time Boyd Co will be on this list. They have played well of late and have 3 quality starters at pitcher, which always comes in handy during sectionals and state. Maynard can put any of the three out there with the confidence that they will win.

Thanks and no, we don't think all Raceland fans are like that. We were there and we all sawwho was crying the loudest. I would say that if anything, their mouths hurt more than helped. They were to the point of obnoxious and were an embarassment to the rest of the Raceland fans. It was nice to see alot of the Raceland and Boyd Co players hugging after the game, consoling and congratulating each other on the game. It was a classy show of respect by the players on both teams.

Kind of funny that I just spoke to Gatrell and he said nothing about telling anyone that the pitch was strike three. And Bowling is so shy that he doesn't talk to anyone. Sounds like you are making stuff up just so someone will feel sorry for you, but guess what, they don't. If you want to blame the loss on anything, blame it on several Raceland errors that allowed almost every run Boyd Co scored. The umpires didn't let the ball roll thru their legs, throw it over 1st base, or drop the ball on a cruciall rundown now did they. But yes I do agree the umps were bad, but I've stated all along that they were horrible both ways. So quit crying and move on!:cry: :cry: :cry:

:thumb: Well said Rambler. And last night it wouldn't have mattered which team lost, both sides were upset at the umps. Neither team received an unfair advantage from them because they were horrible both ways. Which is really a shame considering that this was the regional championship game.

:thumb: I couldn't agree more. Peyton should have been on the all-tourney team IMO.

I will definitely agree that the ump behind the plate was HORRIBLE, but it was both ways. I sat directly behind home plate and he had no consistency at all for any part of the night. His strike zone changed from batter to batter on both sides. What you fail to mention about the walks is that the pitcher was having arm problems and wasn't pitching like his normal self.

Boyd Co prevails again as 16th Region champs:dancingpa Give Raceland credit though, they are a scrappy bunch of battlers. Errors really hurt Raceland tonight as well as Boyd Co hurting themselves on the bases with several baserunning mistakes. The 16th region was well represented tonight with what I believe were the 2 best teams in the region. Great job LIONS and keep that LION EXPRESS rolling thru sectionals now.:banana: :ylsuper:

I think ypu are way off base on this one BCrules. Its no secret that Brandon does alot of the coaching on this team, but Maynard will still be the head coach.

The margin doesn't suprise me at all, BC is on a roll right now. They even won like this today without their hottest hitter in Tyler Gatrell in the lineup due to the death of his grandfather. Which, by the way, condolensces go out to Tyler and his family from the BC faithful. As far as pitching goes, BC has everyone available, except for Moore. He threw 4 innings today but everyone else will be fresh. Look out Rams cause here comes the LION EXPRESS!!!!!!!!

Congrats go out to Brandon Williams for coming out and pitching like he is capable of doing. But as far as everyone thinking this region is a cakewalk for Boyd, there is no such thing in baseball. All it takes is one outstanding performance by a pitcher, just like East found out, and your season is over.

Congrats to Raceland, looks like their days of being has beens in the 16th region may be over as they are playing very well right now.
