  1. Witten did play last night but it was for just a minute or so. It was really interesting watching the two big men battle against each other. By the middle of the second quarter you could see the frustration setting in on Thompson. In the third quarter he decided to change tactics and play very physical. It took about 1:30 and three quick fouls to see that that strategy wasn't going to slow Colt down either. The Smith kid from Lewis had a good game. He is impressive and is really good at shooting off the dribble.
  2. You may be exactly right but after seeing West play twice and Morgan once already this year I'm afraid that the 62nd is weak on the bottom end. I could be completely wrong but after seeing West struggle with Greenup the way that they did it could be a long year in Olive Hill.
  3. and being the toughest has very little to do with West.
  4. Brett Tackett transfered to Rowan County so that will hurt them a lot in the future.
  5. I'm saying Elliott doesn't even win the region:eek: After this season I think that we will also be able to say that Knipp is definitely not the best big man in the region.
  6. You may not have been taking a jab at this family but you hit the nail squarely on the head. This move had absolutely nothing to do with what was in the best interest of the kid. Colin is a good kid that in no way wanted to make this move. He would have saw a lot playing time at East Carter this year but that is just not good enough for some people.
  7. East Carter does have the talent to give a lot of teams fits if they can put it all together. Their size will be a big factor as they are one of the bigger high school teams that you will ever see. RA09 listed Colt Barnhill at 6'6" but that was last year. He has definitely had a growing spurt in the last little bit because when him and Kawada stand side by side you can see the difference. With these two and Pemberton down low there is no reason that they shouldn't own the paint.
  8. He is a sophomore and no he wouldn't have been a starter. He would have seen plenty of playing time being the first big man off the bench but that wasn't what was desired by some.
  9. The new kid that you are talking about is Colin Kennedy. He played for East Carter last year on the JV team. His dad moved him there this year so that he would have a chance of starting on a varsity team. He is a tall kid that has a lot of talent but it may not take long for the Rose Hill faithful to get really tired of dealing with some others that come along with him.
  10. I have heard a couple of rumors that are going around. I was just wondering if one of them was true because I know that one is definitely not. Share what ya got!
  11. Where did Cameron Hall go to? If this is true it really hurts Fairviews chances of contending in the region.
  12. That's a big lineup for sure, but after seeing Barnhill and Kennedy both the other day I would say that both may have hit another growing spell.
  13. I believe that I would go ahead and completely remove Knipp from the list all together. After watching some of the team camps from this summer I would put the Barnhill kid from East Carter in there as a post player. I guarantee that any of those on that list are not any better than he is.
  14. I saw Barnhill play every night of the camp and he was very impressive. He did what he wanted to in every game they played. I sat by the referees a couple of nights and he was definitely their favorite topic of conversation.
  15. Hicks was givin it to them pretty good yesterday.
  16. I would say that those four teams are spot on. The East and SV game was a good game that East lost on a last second shot. I have saw Bath play a couple of games and they look pretty good. Metz is playing with a cast on his left wrist so he is not up to par. East played them yesterday and beat them by 10 but East has a couple of their better players out so it is really hard to get a read on them.
  17. Seen the kid play today at the Raceland camp and he looked like he had some talent. Hampton didn't let him play against the Barnhill kid from East for very long. What time he was in there against him he looked very tenative but that might have come from his first shot being swatted back to half court. I would say that he is a legit 6'6" or maybe just a little taller also.
  18. In the write up it says that Jacob Sparks declined to play for the Junior squad. It also says that Selby is 6'6" and Petit is 6'7". I was just wondering where the people received their information from. Sparks is a senior, Selby is 6'4" at the most and Petit is 6'9"
  19. Does anybody know when the finals actually are?
  20. I think that the delays they keep having are a really good thing for East Carter. Maybe they will get a little closer to being healthy for this game. In the Raceland game it looked like Johnson hurt his hand towards the end of the game and I know that Barnhill wasn't even close to 100% after the fall that he took in the district championship game.
  21. Hoops gal...... I would say that with knowing Go what he is saying is alot more FACT than opinion.
  22. Madeline.......This is the same Bob Trimble that played baseball for Morehead State and is in the Raceland Hall of Fame.
  23. Petit from Rowan Co. is around 6'6". I'm not sure though how well he could stay with Euton out from the basket. Petitt is 6'9" so I would say he could match up size wise very well. He is foul prone and that would be the downfall in the matchup.
  24. It will definitely make it more interesting. I think Elliott is a better team now with this happening, their just not as deep.
  25. That was a pretty nice blind draw that Go did last night.:thumb:
