East Carter 74 Lewis Co. 61

Final. The score was 62-60 East with three minutes to play and the refs took over. East hit 17 for 17 from the line in the second half. Congrats to B-Bake and East on the win. Worst officiated game I have seen in years, I felt sorry for Bobby Hall to have to be out there with the other two. Bobby as usual did a good job.

Please expound. I listened to the end on the radio and the announcers never said anything to that end.

I thought it was bad both ways tonite. I felt sorry for B. Hall also, team fouls were 6(LC)-1(EC), then Coach Hampton gets a T called on him, very deserving on a horrible call (they call a walk after 2 players have a collision, call a block or a charge and neither coach can say much). After the T, team fouls goto 10(EC)-8(LC). Then late in game Coach Baker gets T'ed, by same ref, and team fouls from that point on were like 7-1(EC favor) last 3 minutes, and Lewis got hit on a couple shots late. Just bad game for the refs, but both ways.

I quit listening with East up by 19 in the 3rd quarter when East put in several subs. I thought the game was over at that point. Sorry I turned it off now...sounds like it got exciting.

I have talked to 3 different people who all tell the same story (from different sides) and all basically agree with all that has been said, Coach Hampton's T was deserving on a really bad call and same ref got Coach Baker for saying a call was ridiculous. East got a big lead as Barnhill schooled Thompson and the Lions inside, but Smith and Riley led Lewis back, East made the plays down the stretch and won the game. Like was said earlier Lewis got some calls late and Coach Baker ask the ref who T'd both coaches how he could make that call and he said twice, "Don't worry about it Coach the game is almost over anyway." Also want to wish Calvert #22 for Lewis a speedy recovery as he was put on a stretcher after a knee injury.

Saw someone from Shawnee State @ the game, who were they there watching, I would guess maybe the 2 big guys(Thompson from Lewis & Barnhill from EC). Any details??

Who was calling with Bobby??

Randy Taylor and Joe Coldiron

Joe C. has to be leading in T's given I think this makes him 3.

I also heard that Randy Taylor threw out a fan. But I dont think this is anything out of the ordinary for these two, they want to make sure everyone knows who is in charge.

I was told Witten has been playing last 2 games.

Witten did play last night but it was for just a minute or so. It was really interesting watching the two big men battle against each other. By the middle of the second quarter you could see the frustration setting in on Thompson. In the third quarter he decided to change tactics and play very physical. It took about 1:30 and three quick fouls to see that that strategy wasn't going to slow Colt down either.

The Smith kid from Lewis had a good game. He is impressive and is really good at shooting off the dribble.

What grade is Barnhill in?
