What does East Carter need to do to improve in 2008/2009? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

East Carter will be a top 25 team in the state before the year ends. 6'6 Colt Barnhill will cause 16th region teams fits. Has a nice touch around the basket and is a horse on the boards. Add 6'7 Devin Kawada and 6'4 Mark Pemberton and you have one of the taller teams in the state. You can count on solid guard play from Tyler Jackson night in and night out. IMO, Bair is the X-factor. If he can cut down on his turnovers this year, East Carter will be a tough out for any team in the state.

East Carter does have the talent to give a lot of teams fits if they can put it all together. Their size will be a big factor as they are one of the bigger high school teams that you will ever see. RA09 listed Colt Barnhill at 6'6" but that was last year. He has definitely had a growing spurt in the last little bit because when him and Kawada stand side by side you can see the difference. With these two and Pemberton down low there is no reason that they shouldn't own the paint.

East should be tough. Barnhill's an absolute beast in the paint. What kind of depth do they have this year???

I agree with all the above posts if anyone can beat Elliott its East, I saw them alot this summer and they looked like men playing boys.

IMO, this is the only team in the region that will challenge Elliott. I think that in the event that shots aren't falling beyond the arc, East can beat Elliott. IF that happens at the wrong time, we could very well have East coming out of the 16th. Unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

AGREE--Saw them several times last year against Elliott. They are tall and talented (much taller than Elliott). Could be a repeat of last year with Elliott and East playing 4x (home and home, district championship, and region championship). What is scary about this from an Elliott fan's standpoint is how many times in a row can you beat someone (with talent) until you lose one. Hopefully for Elliott fans not in Johnson Arena in March of next year?? If they were to go into the region championship with 7 straight wins over East (with probably several being close including one last year) then when does one have an off night and the streak ends. If going into the region and Elliott had 7 straight wins over East then I would fill more comfortable not playing them in the region final (someone upsets East in the region SF). Not saying a lose is good, but losing one regular season game (to East) could turn out to be a blessing come region tournament time.

East is the only team I see that could give Elliott a run for their money in the 16th region. They must be able to score with Elliott. These two teams should be 1&2 in the region this year hands down.

East Carter's whole team is alot bigger and better this year. Look for the Raiders to make some noise throughout the State and the 16th Region
