After 5 1/2 innings Somerset leads West Jessamine 11-6.

I have noticed that the field is now covered with all new top soil. Seems that they are finally fixing the crown on the field. I have also heard that new drains and a new sprinkler system is too be added. Does anyone know for sure whats going on?

I think so, Chase Hall is a very capable QB. I look for both to have big numbers this year. :thumb:

I'm just glad that it is almost that time of year again to be talking about football, not that I don't think about it all year long. I look for Somerset to be very good again this year while contending for another regional championship.

I was just going on what Coach Slone and Coach Cobb told me. I think the numbers will be fine, I say 35 will be more like it after some drop throughout practice.

Numbers will be fine this year, hearing around 40. Not bad considering the Junior class next year only has 4 players. The addition of Chase Hall, Chad Shoemaker, and Chris Fitzpatrick returning is a pleasant addition for Coach Cobb. Chase will no doubt be the QB, look for Shoemaker to fill in at the 3rd LB spot and Fitzpatrick to fill in at safety.

I think one of the keys for Pulaski this year is more team speed, they seemed to play hard last year but seemed a step slow.

I was thinking that Tim Stephens had over 3,000 points. It is listed in a trophy case just outside the gym.

Somerset petitioned the state to move up to 3a next year. Enrollment would have them in 2a next year.

I'm looking forward to watching this group through high school, should be a great ride! This years 8th grade group down to the 5th graders will be some very good years for Somerset football.

Didn't get the exact team names but did hear that the schedule is watered down a little.

The Jumpers should field another good team next year. We have several key players returning like Hughes, Cole, Megargal, Coomer and if Hall, Fitzpatrick, and Shoemaker return for there senior year by mid-season Somerset good be very good. I think right now Chase Hall coming back out will be the deciding factor on how far Somerset ventures into the 3A playoffs next year.

Anyone with any info. on the Someret/NCC game being broadcast online? We have a large number of fans here in Daytona Beach that are desperately trying to find a way to listen to the game.

I want to go on record and tell Jones, Gossett, and the rest of the Jumpers how proud I am of you guys. People were down on you at the beginning but I knew that you guys had it, you just had to put it together! Upsets do happen sometimes but not this week, Somerset Wins 35-28! Yes! :banana: I think it's the first semi-state to be at Somerset since the 80's.

I agree with you 100%, the field should be JUST fine tomorrow night. :D

I don't think that anyone in our region can shut down cole with single coverage. Just as you would like Somerset to throw at Hoskins, I would like to have Cole in single coverage. I look for Hazard to double him every play just like everyone else since district play began. The key for Hazard is to limit John Cole and not to let him behind the safety. Like you said should make for some good football friday night. :thumb: With all being said I will go with Somerset 42 Hazard 18.

Although I firmly believe that the game is going to be played at Somerset, when will it be official. In todays Commonwealth Journal they state that the game is going to be played in Hazard.

Did you hear him say that? I doubt it, Somerset has always played a top notch schedule. I don't know Somerset's schedule next year but if Danville isn't on it, it's not because Somerset can't compete at a top notch level.
