I agree 100%, the maroons will be much better in '08. Give Muse one more year to develop and he will be a force next year for Pulaski.

Does anyone know if Pulaski Co. has a scrimmage this week or not? If so when and where?

That would be my prediction on how the district will finish. It will be a big game when Wayne visits Garrard.

Who did Garrard scrimmage friday night? How do you see them finishing in the new district?

I'll be there also watching C. Trotter on Southern's team. Big fan of his! See Keemosabee give me some credit for supporting all local schools.

I wish the Maroons well this year except for August 24th of course. I look for the Maroons to be vastly improved in all areas. I say a 5-6 win season.

I think that we could all argue who the better team is all football season. I'm still sticking with the Jumpers just for the fact that we return several key players from last years team plus the addition of Hall and Shoemaker, we are not in a position where we have to reload this year. Several people think that Somerset is all about Cole this year and we are not. Somerset showed that Friday night against a solid North Laurel squad by spreading the ball to several players.

I don't know any of the coaches but they seemed to keep the kids very motivated one way or another. One coach had them doing push ups on the field during the scrimmage, my kind of coach:ylsuper: .

I'm hoping and praying for great weather!!! If so I think Kemo's right Clark Field will be packed with fans.

No doubt that this is one of the best bowl games in our part of the state. Three great programs in Rockcastle, Somerset, and Southwestern. These three programs since 2000 have a combined record of 188-76 (RC 79-17, Somerset 59-27, and SW 50-32). Pulaski County has a 37-41 record since 2000 but are on the upswing with a strong nucleus of players returning and should have a good season.

We here in Pulaski Co. are blessed the have three good programs and great fans to follow them. Nothing like debating Pulaski Co. football a few weeks before the season.

Chase Hall (Sr.) will be the starting QB this year.

I wouldn't have expected you to say anything different....:thumb: Sure Cole is a great receiver and will carry the load for the Jumpers, but Somerset is blessed with other players also. Gossett, Hall, Hughes, Shoemaker, Coomer, Megargel, Cowan......etc. Lets let things play out a few weeks and then we can debate this much more.

If its MeGargel he is a Senior. Sounds alot like him, tall and fast. He plays with a high motor.

Welcome to BluegrassPreps! What a way to make an entrance by asking this question. IMO Somerset probably would be tops this year then SW and PC coming in 3rd. Like you said three good programs with lot of talent.

Could be a few players but sounds alot like MeGargel to me. I've watched him since middle school, good size, fast, and hits hard. He should be one of our DE's again this year.

I'm sure that Pulaski will be ready as will Somerset. This is a big game, neither team will be overlooking the other. Word is filtering around the Somerset camp that Winston is going to try to shut down Cole by himself...well good luck. I too look for Muse to have a fine night, but not because Somerset has a "suspect defense" but because he is a fine player. Somerset's defense looked pretty good the other night against a much larger North Laurel team. I'll stick with my earlier prediction...Somerset 42 PC 13

Interesting to see how this plays out, the teams are #6 and #7 in the Bluegrasspreps 3A rankings. Will be fun to watch but I really don't look for either team to open things up very much, these teams could meet up again in the playoffs.
