As a Garrard fan, I would love to see the final score you predicted. But truthfully, a Garrard win would be a tight score. Washington County returns almost everybody from last years team...and that team was really solid. Garrard, by all accounts, seems to have more quickness this year, but that's where Washington is strong as well. I'll withhold a prediction, but Garrard will have to bring their "A" game to top the Commanders.

As for the Bell-Lincoln score, I'd pick Bell to win by a couple touchdowns. Lincoln has to replace both star backs from last year and I'm hearing that they are also running a different offense this year, with a new coordinator. Lincoln should be fine by playoff time, but I think Bell will topple them in week 1.

I've heard they looked pretty good against Tates Creek. They have several new faces that I haven't seen so I can't really predict much about their squad. If they've got more speed (which is what everyone is saying) then they can be competitive.

I would think they are the #2 choice in the district behind Somerset, but I don't know that for sure. They should be better than Casey and Jackson, and they get Wayne County at home, which might be an advantage. I know next to nothing about Taylor County and its a road game after Garrard plays Somerset. I wouldn't be surprised if tiebreakers have to be used to determine district seeding behind the Jumpers.

Who did Garrard scrimmage friday night? How do you see them finishing in the new district?

That's a really tough question. To me it all depends on how good Wayne Co. will be this year. I could see Garrard finishing anywhere from 2-4 in the district. If I had to guess I would go, Somerset, Wayne Co., Garrard Co., Taylor Co., Casey Co., Jackson Co.

Garrard Co. was at Tates Creek this past Friday and they played well on offense, Their defense was pretty much manhandled upfront though. Tates Creek is making some changes and had about 80 kids SO-SR and played a ton of guys, but that being said, #8 for Garrard was explosive and had plenty of nice runs. Garrard also returned a kick for a score, but their kicking game was not good at all and they gave up a return as well.

That would be my prediction on how the district will finish. It will be a big game when Wayne visits Garrard.

The game being at Garrard could be really big. Its also late in the season. Wayne has beat Garrard the last two seasons, so revenge could be a factor as well.

Don't know about the first game between Garrard Co. and Washington Co, could go either way I guess. But the next game between the Bobcats of Bell Co. and the Patriots of Lincoln Co, I think the Patriots will hold their own for about three quarters, but the Cats will pull it out at the end. Bell Co. by a TD.

Washington County is a rising program with a ton of good young players returning from last year. Their coach is top drawer talent. Their victory over Western late last season was no fluke, and were it not for drawing Bardstown and Danville in their district, I would consider them a solid playoff contender. I think they beat Garrard.

I tend to agree with you. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Washington upset one of the "big two" in their district, either in the regular season or playoffs.
