Owsley has a good group of sophmores, but the team of the future lies in the 7th grade.

Big win for Hazard. Repeat of last season, I would not be suprised to see this game agian in the regional tourney.

Give me Buckhorn by 10+

The 14th seems off a bit. I would agree that Breathitt and Knott are the top teams. However I cant see PCC ranked that high. THey are having an off year as well as LCC and JBS hasnt played anyone. Hazard has only won three games and they still have a higher ranking than Buckhorn.

If I recall Hazard beat JBS last season in the finals at Breathitt County. Then JBS defeated Hazard to advance to the state tournament.

Owsley beat Buckhorn, then Buckhorn beat Hazard, then Owsley lost to Hazard. I think that one of these three teams will go to Richmond.

This is a year that Buckhorn is the better team. Buckhorn 58 PCC 46

Estill has established themselves as the early favorite in the 56th. Lee County is not as good as expected. Powell has shown signs of being a real good team and Owsley is still adjusting to a new coach. But alot of things can change by tourney time.

Owsley County only allowed 6 points in the third quarter and 1 point in the fourth. Baker took alot of time off of the clock trying to break a 2-3 zone that the lady owls were playing. (Their coach told me that was the first time in his two years of coaching in Florida that his team had ever seen a zone.)

The score was actually Owsley 49 Charolette 46. Owsley trailed by as many as 15 in the game but after applying a full court press Owsley was able to cut nto the lead and take the lead with 10 seconds to go. The lady Owls advanced to the finals of the Baker Lady Bulldog Holiday Tournament in Cape Coral Florida by defeating the host school by 15 points in what was a very good defensive game. It was the lady Owls second win in as many nights agianst Class 4A Florida Schools. Up next is Charolette High School in Florida for the Championship on Saturday Night at 7 o' Clock.

The lady Owls won their opening game in the Baker Lady Bulldog Holiday Tournament last night by defeating Palmetto Ridge High School. In a very good game in which the lady Owls never trailed they were able to defeat the Class 4A school. I will post stats when I get them.

Coach Noble and Owsley will be fine. It is true that the future looks good at the middle school level. Owsley needs a point guard, that has been the problem the last two years. They do not a have anyone that can be a true floor leader. It is also early in the season. Nobody cares what happens during the regular season anyway. Last years team didnt win many games, However the Owls came up big and sent Lee County, one of the 14 region favorites home early in the district.

Sorry About that. Still Frustrated

Powell County came into Booneville on Homecoming Night and showed the lady Owls just exactly who is the favorite to win the 56th district. The lady Owls led 3 to 0 to start the game and it never got any closer. The lady Owls played lethargic on defense, allowing Powell County several lay ups from runouts and open shots under the basket. Powell County played excellent team ball and made a statement in the win. Stats Powell County To many to list Owsley County Not enough to worry about.

If they still have players come and go each week, they will be hard to judge. One week they are the worst team in the region. The next week they are the best.

The Horn is good but they dont have the defenders to Stop the Stepps and Tate Cox.

I have heard this about the generals the last couple of years.

Maybe its not good offense. It could be bad defense.

JBS is the favorite in the 14th. But it is not neccessary to beat a team this bad to prove it.
