Wow - I'm surprised by this score. I thought Hazard was good, but playing that zone I thought JBS would be able to score at will. Congrats to the Bulldogs.

The station I was listening to praised Hazard's gameplan of taking it downlow and trying to get easy buckets, apparently it worked.

Tate didn't play, Hazard better be ready for JBS when he returns.

I knew that June Buchanan had their work cut out with Hazard without Tate Cox. I'm assuming he didn't play. They only won by 5 in the Wymt tournament with Cox.

That was what I was afraid of, that everyone would say Hazard only won because Tate Cox was hurt. That may be true, but I wanted Tate Cox to play so bad so this wouldn't be a discussion. All I hope is that he is healthy the next time they play, if that happens! Good luck Hazard!!

The score was Hazard 64 JBS 52...we won by 12, not two!

 

What a game! The dogs came out on fire and shot 61% in the first half while shutting down JBS, having a 16 point lead at half time. Would you believe JBS only scored 4 points in the first quarter? Well it is true. Then in the second half Hazard stepped up again and shot 51% while out rebounding JBS left and right. The dogs played with heart and determination...a real team effort. Now on the the All-A with a game 9:30 on Thursday night!

Does anyone have any stats for this game? How many did Clark Stepp have?

I don't know how many he had, but clearly not enough. That may be because Michael Campbell took every step that Clark made and most of his points came when Michael was forced to switch off onto another player. Take nothing away from Clark...he is a great ball player, but today Hazard and their smothering defense and fantastic rebounding was simply too much for the Crusaiders!

Hazard's very capable of beating JBS even with a healthy Cox, but it had to hurt their chances today without him in the lineup.

I've said all year though, that's there's very little difference in these two teams. They are now 1-1 against each other, and they'll probably play for a 3rd time in the regional tournament for a trip to Rupp.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but anyone that says Tate Cox not playing in this game doesn't make a difference for June Buchanan is in denial, imo. He's one of the best shooters in the state.
