A very pyhsical game. Owsley had 3 or 4 players foul out and a bunch more that had 4. Buckhorn had one foul out. It is hard to beat a team that shoot 28/30 from the line. Done the math don't know if this is quite right but they shot 93% as a team from the foul line. That is amazing.

Buckhorn was very impressive on the floor and at the free throw line. The game would have been closer if Owsley had hit 75% of their free throws....but that's an if. I was still impressed with the hustle of the Owls. They are continuing to improve in some areas. Hopefully they will get it together by district tournament time.

Owsley is improving and will continue to improve under Coach Noble. This team has came leaps and bounds since the beginning of the season. Buckhorn tonight was just the better team.

Owsley got the same type of pressured shots that Buckhorn got , its just that Owsley hasn't adjusted all the way to the physicality and game speed yet to finish around the basket when that type of pressure is applied. It was a very physical game and Buckhorn performed well under pressure all night long, knocking down the big shot or coming up with the hustle play when needed. Zack Gay is a nice player and does a great job leading that team. Buckhorn never got in a drought but when they offense seem to slow down or the defense pressure eased up Zack seem to bring the team back together and come up with the Big Game play.Buckhorn only made two field goals in the 4th. I believe they got 13pts from the line.

 

Big win for the Buckhorn and goodluck with the rest of the tournament. Even though our Owls didn't win ,imo Owsley pride is starting to show up again in the players eyes, especially in the younger players. Timmy Murrell plays as hard or harder than any kid I've seen all year and can tell a difference wach time he is on the floor.

This was a big win for Buckhorn. They really came together with the loss of Andy Blank. Buckhorn played with a purpose. It is very important for them to come out with the same intesity tonight against JBS.

They're not hurt, but Reed didn't play against Leslie County Wednesday due to missing practice. Pierson's playing time has reduced lately as the coach is trying to get more players in the game and give them some experience, particularly the younger players.

They may get it together. Noble has done a great job with this senior team. The JV has been real impressive in some outings.

The JV has looked pretty good all year. There's some promising young players on the team, particularly the sophomore class. With the addition of Nick Noble at the point next year the Owls should be okay.

Alot of the kids play varsity. The Jv team is 8-2 i think. they have beaten Powell's Jv team once and play them again next week. They beat Estill JV twice and Lee's Twice so they are undeafted in district play.

Murrell and Evans, both sophomores, play quite a bit on the varsity. As for their record I'm not sure, but it's above .500. They play all the district schools (Powell, Lee, and Estill) and most the other JVs on their schedule.

Timmy Murrell is doing really well love to watch the kid play. He tries hard every min. he is on the floor. What more can you ask of a kid.
