Did we run 82 offensive plays? That seems like alot? Any comparable numbers?

One of our star player's Grandfather had a good idea. Start building at the bottom of Death Valley a parking garage until level with the top of the hill and have the stadium level with the lot. Solves 2 problems: stadium and parking!

I look for special teams or a crucial turnover to win this one. Ryle's Offense was suspect at best against Highlands. (18 yds after 3 quarters...and only 1 big play in the 4th). Their D was outstanding. NCC has a good, multi-attack offense...but obviously their D has some issues to let that lead get away. I'll go with the poise and potency of Robbie Kues & crew to win a low scoring affair. 18-7

If FB could get the athletes to come out (or transfer in) that hoops does at Holmes, then they would definitely be able to have a Colerain-like team. Give Lickert some time and admin support and the results will appear.

I watched that young man play last night and he will be missed. You could tell he was "into" the game. I hope he still hangs around the team and helps out. He looked to be a "future" leader of the team. I hope he recovers soon and gets into the weight room to get B-S-F!! (Bigger-Stronger-Faster)! :ylsuper:

Question for NCC folks: Did Brossart's FB program have any bearing on the #'s for this year's squad? I was told that several FB players had not ever played before last night.

CF...great post! Thanks for the analysis. It pretty much sums up what I saw on the DVD's this week. on O we have to account for #27 every play...and on D, the classic "tackle the FB EVERY play". If we can do that...then we have a chance!

Game was a LOT closer than the score. HHS had NCC outmanned by a LARGE margin and yet a game bunch of Breds hung 8-8 for 3 quarters. Hope the young man from NCC who hurt his shoulder late in the game is OK. What's up with running a fake kick from the 2 in the 1st Quarter??? Man up and run the ball in! "True Blue" is a BEAST! Line needs to hang with their blocks longer...but it's the first game. They are large and will get nothing but better! Andy Miller is one...pardon the early 70's cliche....STUD! How'd HHS let him get away? (lol) Carter New threw some very nice balls tonite...one a perfect strike to a streaking reciever that zipped right over the cornerbacks shoulder. Great throw! Great catch and run! Both programs represented themselves nicely tonite!

Last year, Highlands beat Trotwood-Madison, an OHIO team in the Herbie.

Well...I'm pleasantly surprised at big #63 Adam Dempsey's play at defensive line. His first game on that side of the ball since freshman year and he delivered a stalwart performance while playing 100% of the offensive snaps and only about 30% of the defensive one's. Including 1 bigtime sack of the QB.

Holy Cripes it's only game 1...and a 20 point win! The O-line of last year was a SR dominated line and they only beat Ryle by one score more. Give the boys some time. Most of them just had thei FIRST VARSITY START! And quite frankly, it showed. They will get better is the good news...the bad news is it better be in a hurry because Colerain is next! But I think they will rise to the challenge. Check back in week ten as we prepare for the playoffs, the cream will have risen to the top.

One of the great things about DCM stadium is that the fans get an "up close and personal" look at the opposing coaches and their demeanor. I have to say that I am impressed with the Ryle staff. They kept a positive attitude and one coach in particular was constantly imploring the kids to dig a little deeper and reminded them that "we're not out of this...believe me, we're going to win". I just wish the kids on the sideline would have bought in to what he was saying. I saw NO reaction from any of the subs. Show a little espirit de corps for the troops on the field and maybe magic will happen. Ryle's program is going in the right direction and it won't be long before they are there! Nice game, guys!
