Metcalfe Co @ Mayfield Predictions
CENTURION replied to wildcatjack's topic in KY Football (High School)
Mayfield.... big -
I'm surprised about Bardstown coaching staff... they definately do have a special group of kids. I didnt know how much of an uphill battle this was for FHS, i was thinking this was more of a veteran squad, especially at the running backs. Congrats on a great year.

Danville @ Bardstown Predictions
CENTURION replied to RebelBred's topic in KY Football (High School)
Bardstown is ridiculously fast... THE fastest team in the state. I think Danville gets upset, and for once somone other than D-ville wins the regional championship. Bardstown is the real deal, and they are rolling. -
AAAA Region 2 Final : X @ John Hardin
CENTURION replied to Mr. No Name's topic in KY Football (High School)
St. X beats John Hardin and become regional champs.... can someone tell me why this is @ John Hardin, X is undefeated. -
I think LCA quiteted some doubters... LCA gets an even bigger upset this week vs. NewCath!
-
I was at this game. After the 1st quarter it was tied 7-7. Western took momentum back to the lockerroom at halftime by scoring as time expired. Western has SPEED, Wayne County had no answer for Western's backs. Wayne Co. simply ran out of time to score. Collins missed the game due to an injury. Keep rolling Warriors, a big rematch this week vs. DeSales, best of luck to the district champs.
-
I did NOT think it would be this big of a blowout. VERY surpriising score. Congtats Frankfort on a great year, there is still a lot of talent hanging around the program, keep you heads up. Bardstown keeps rolling... I predit it FINALLY being the year that someone other than Danville wins the region.

Wow, sounds like a thriller. Obviously Corbin has a great team, DeSales is one of the best in AA. Tough break, the Redhounds have nothing to be ashamed of, what a great high school football game, its a shame that one of these teams had to walk away with a loss.

Lexington Christian 43 Beechwood 20

Bluto, I"ve respected you guys since you came to Louisville and beat CAL, after that game i predicted you all would have a great shot in the playoffs... LCA is the real deal, might as well jump on the bangwagon. This is an impressive win, keep rolling LCA! -
Can someone explain what John Hardin did? Its a pretty big deal to beat Male, congrats, even though I really wanted to see St. X and MALE have a rematch. I said Male better come out of the gate ready to play, this JHHS team beat PRP, and now Male, St. X has a tough game for the regional championship.
-
We'll find out soon... Panthers and Tigers, really wish i could see this cat fight! I think Bardstown played through the tougher district, they stay undefeated.
-
Danville better get up for this one, if they come out or play like they did against Bethlehem, Cougars finally get over the hump.

Desales(9-2) @ Corbin(6-5)
CENTURION replied to the mathemagician's topic in KY Football (High School)
This is a LOOONG bus ride from the south end of Louisville to Corbin KY... I give the edge to the hometeam. IF Corbin can stop Zinser, they can stop DeSales. Reed is a good qb, and the line is big, hog mollies up front, but Zinser makes the offense go. DeSales has a stud tight end, rumor has it he's going to Virginia, and a SHORT little tailback who can sneak around his big lineman. -
John Hardin/Male thoughts & predictions
CENTURION replied to Mr. No Name's topic in KY Football (High School)
John Hardin beat a very good PRP team, MALE better come out of the gate ready to play. I like Coach Redman and his bulldogs in this one. -
LCA upsets Beechwood.

The big 3 all stay alive.

Desales(9-2) @ Corbin(6-5)
CENTURION replied to the mathemagician's topic in KY Football (High School)
Western threw all over DeSales and I mean all over, probaly over 300 yards. They would spread 4 guys out and run them down the field and throw the ball up. DeSales CAN NOT DEFEND THAT! They cam close to Western because their offense ran over Western's defense. The game was all offense. If Corbin can effictevely air the ball out, it's over. -
Rebel, you hit something right on, Central is not disciplined. They have all the talent in the world, but if they get rattled and shut down early, Boyle wins. BUT, if Central plays as a team unselfishly, and gets up and gets fired up, they win. Central is a very good team... and to be honest there are other schools around Louisville that are less disciplined than Central. Should be a great game.

Boone Co./Dixie Rd. 2, Predictions....
CENTURION replied to Lineman_65's topic in KY Football (High School)
Boone impressed me with how well they played against Ballard. By the sounds of it Boone has some great linemen, i think Boone beats Dixie Heights. -
Very stingy defense, as EVERYONE knows, fantastic speed. I think some people may be forgetting about the speed demons that Frankfort has... Frankfort has the same capability of breaking it as Bardstown. I think Bardstown continues... but I'm not surprised if the Panthers win, should be a great game.
-
I think LCA wins, I've been impressed with them after they came to CAL and rolled right by us, 28-6. While i know Beechwood is good, LCA has so many weapons, as long as they stay healthy, they stay in the playoffs.

Two Big Rematches in Louisville Next Friday!
CENTURION replied to 02Ram54's topic in KY Football (High School)
This is crazy, St. X should have built a stadium LONG ago. -
Holy Cross does have a great defense, we can all agree on that. In the regular season they gave up less than 100 points, pretty impressive. BUT Holy Cross lacks a good offense. I see them having problem putting points on the board. Davnille has playmakers who can break it at anytime. HC lacks speed on offense, but they still are loaded with strength everywhere else. I think Danville knocks the Cougars out, this is not the same Holy Cross team from last year, the loss of Booker and Titus leave Holy Cross without playmaking running backs. I still think Holy Cross has a great shot, should be a good game.
-
This will be a long trip for Washington Co... I personally think that if Corbin can put points on the board, Washington Co. doesn't have the offensive weapons to put up big numbers. They are more of a consistant drive, melt the clock team. From what I've heard Corbin can be explosive. Washington Co. does have a good line, but Corbin should win easy.

Top Team in Lexington Going into the season
CENTURION replied to HC50's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
LCA is once again strong, I'm predicting them to win the 11th region, look for them to be gunning for state.
