Good point! The Tigers seem to be scoring enough points, but the defense seems to fail to hold sub-par teams from scoring more than they should!

Ashland is too talented to be as bad as they have been this year too! Look at their record. The Tomcats have had about 3 or so games that have been around the high 30's to 40 range!

Congrats to the Devils! The Devils seem to be improving, BUT don't get all hung up on beating a 7-10 team!! The true test for the Devils will be against Boyd this week!

I wouldn't call a lucky put back with 0.3 seconds left by Paintsville on their home floor against a mediocre SV team "rebounding well". Paintsville should have won the All A region title and should have at least been in the finals at the WYMT tourney. The Tigers are not playing like a preseason regional favorite right now. At this point the 15th is WIDE OPEN for almost any team that gets hot!

I didn't see the game, but this sounds like more of what Owens needs to be doing. Teamwork will take the Lions far this year!

There is a lot of firsts for Ashland this year!

No way! Ashland can't beat anyone, even lost to East Carter! And it is a good thing that Ashland hasn't played any 15th region teams or they would probably have lost to them too! And I am an Ashland fan, but you have to face reality! This year, Ashland couldn't win the 14th, 15th or 16th regions on a good day!

Well I am not overly impressed with SV this year and the Tigers should be dominating the Region but aren't? I'll take Paintsville by 10+ if they play! But I have seen so many double digit Tiger leads evaporate this year that I hope that I am not wrong! It is time for the Tigers to step up to the plate and start showing what they can do though. Maybe playing SV, which has stung the Tigers in big games for several years will put some spark into the Tigers!

Looks good, but I wouldn't put Russell ahead of Boyd yet. Since they play this week, let the Red Devils prove that they belong ahead of the Lions first.

Lets just have a "big regional" made up of district tourneys with no two teams playing on their home floor. Seed the teams and let them play at different locations. The winner advances, rather than the winner and runner-up on to the rest of the regional. But because of the money from the Districts and the extra team playing in the Regional, this will never happen.

That has been the case in many Tiger losses this year!!

Not all blame goes to the coaches, but some does! And just because BMR is one of the best if not the best coach in EKY and has done wonders for Paintsville basketball and even football, doesn't mean he is always perfect!!! With that said, I hope you are right and the Tigers do get it together by March!

Scooterbob, Not many schools don't or haven't had an "import" at some point or another! So who really cares. I never did join the anti-Rose Hill group when they had Mayo and Walker and others. In fact I always enjoyed watching them play. By the way, and where are those "others" now? You don't hear any complaints from other schools now about Rose Hill do you? Most schools will take whatever players they can get and why blame them!

First off, I said "IF TRUE", it would serve him right! And if it is true it would. I would say this to my own son if that were the facts. But that doesn't mean that I am an "Owens hater" as you state! I have never expressed any hatred toward Owens. In fact, I LIKE OWENS VERY MUCH! He is a good kid from what I know, and without him Boyd wouldn't be a top contender in the region. So I don't know where you misunderstand my comments?? :confused: Owens is the best player in the 16th Region!! I have said that in other posts!! So don't accuse me of being an Owens hater because that is very far from the truth! I have made critical comments about Boyd's players and team attitude because they do have some internal problems that need to be dealth with. These comments have been made to point out that the problems exist and in hopes that it may help someone reading to make an effort to solve them if they are in a position to do so. I have been supportive of Boyd on my posts as well. So don't accuse me of being an Owens hater. That is the farthest thing from the truth!

As balanced as the 57th is this year and as unpredictable as the teams play from night to night, I don't think it really matters which teams get matched up in the district. They can all win on a given night!

Not really an upset, but as seems to be developing into a pattern, Paintsville blows the big lead AGAIN! If they can't hang on to the big leads they run out to, then they have no hope to advance in the tourney this year! I don't understand some of the coaching of BMR during the last 3 minutes of the game?? Oh well ! His record not mine! Congrats to the Raiders!!

Looks like Fairview voting for the draw could very well keep them from going to Morehead with one of the best teams they have had in years. They better hope that they beat Boyd, which won't be an easy task at Boyd. Good break for Ashland and RH, although it would seem to favor Ashland more!

Congrats to the Tigers!! It is good to see Paintsville starting to play a little better than they were! Anytime the Tigers can put four players in double figures and anytime that Vanhoose, Slone and Pugh all average around 20 points, the Tigers aren't likely to lose! Just wish they could do this more often. Good luck in the finals!

When Elliott is playing well they are hard to beat. Morgan is going to have to avoid the little mistakes when playing a hot team!
