64th District Draw Results

Featured Replies

Ashland vs Rose Hill

Boyd vs Fairview

The tournament will be held at BC. For a school to hold the tournament they must be able to hold the capacity of the average championship game over the last 5 years, and if they cannot the tourney is sent to the largest gym in the district, which is BC. The average attendance over the last 5 years was 1,600, and apparently RH can only hold about 1,000.

I can't wait! :thumb:

I had no doubts that ashland would draw Rose Hill. I hope the young Royals take it to them.

Ouch...

Bet Fairview and Boyd are a little disappointed.

AT your post is mostly correct. The average attendance was actually closer to 1000, 1011 to be exact. The KHSAA told the AD's that given the past numbers that if all four schools couldn't agree on the site then they would rule in favor of moving the tournament to a bigger facility.

All four schools represented then agreed to move the tournament to Boyd since it is the biggest gym in the district. Other gyms such as Raceland and Greenup were considered but all involved decided it just made more since to keep it in the district.

The draw is exactly as stated. I'm sure both Rose Hill and Ashland are thrilled and both Fairview and Boyd are disappointed.

Pressure is squarely on the shoulders of Boyd Co.They are rated higher than Fairview, defeated them earlier and are playing on their home floor(which is an extra bonus since it wasn't expected). No excuse for losing.

I was hoping to see both Boyd and Fairview in the region tourney, but I guess that's how it goes when you draw. Should be an exciting district tourney.

I would have to think our other three districts are very pleased with this draw.

Wow, Ashland catches a major break. Rose Hill is still VERY capable of knockin off Ashland though especially with their size advantage,

How Much Does G.C.'s gym hold? More then 4,500 i know that for a fact.

I would say that Ashland is definately pleased with their draw!

G.C?

Sounds like an interesting meeting today.

Was the draw originally supposed to happen today?

Why couldn't the four schools agree on the site?

Was it the small schools siding up versus the big schools?

Ashland catches a very big break and most likely moving on to the 16th Region Tournament, no disrespect intended towards the RH fan base.
