64th District Draw Results

Featured Replies

Ashland may have "caught a break", but they didnt get any "gimmee"

They should have played in the Regular Season, Rose Hill can create Matchup problems, it will be a single digit game, one way or the other

Boyd County Fairview game will be a THRILLER

Now look for Morgan to draw Elliot in the district

Not a break, but if seeded it would be 1 playing 2; 3 playing 4! I consider that very fortuitous!! :thumb:

If RH was playing BC in 1st round would the tournament have been at Ashland??? That would have been strange bedmates!!! Lets hope their isn't an "Attendancegate" this year!!!

WVA Boy, no disrespect taken by this RH fan. I think it would be foolish to think for a second that Ashland isn't thrilled with the results. On the Rose Hill side we are also pleased with the draw. No disrespect intended for Ashland but I would rather play them than Boyd or Fairview. You have to pick your poison.

There will be no "attendancegate" this year if Rose Hill insists on a secure facility when it arrives and takes control of the gymnasium. I feel sure that Rose Hill's first act will be to determine that, unlike four years ago, the Boyd County cafeteria is empty rather than packed with individuals waiting to enter the gymnasium in mass without paying. All the other "free venues" will also be checked before anyone is admitted. All of this happened in 2002 for the championship game but it won't happen again.

I would think that RH would be single digit underdogs and very capable of an upset. Neutral floor scenario hurts a little.

Ricky P- was the district site decided before the draw? If not, would the results have been different if RH had drawn BC?

I knew that would draw your attention SB!!! :thumb: I would be astonished if the problems of the past were not rectified and the tournament does not go very smoothly. I look for a very exciting and entertaining 64th District Tourney!!

It was decided before the draw. Everyone agreed to take their chances. I still wish that Rose Hill could have played at home but the rules are the rules. I think the KHSAA needs to reevaluate their stance on this situation. It seems to me that they have put money in front of what is right for the kids and coaches involved. Just my opinion.

The public accusations by our neighbors four years ago remain as sore spots and are still sources of some of the continuing annimosity. Lessons have been learned and statements are not now taken as fact without investigation. Automatic trust has been removed from the equation. Of course, it should be easier since tickets won't be scarce. There are clearly no primetimers playing this year. I would assume that college recruiters, etc. will be more in number at the Rose Hill venue (girls) than at the Boyd County venue (boys).

Makes a girl wish she were going to be in town for the District Tournament...

Let me briefly address "attendancegate". The last time Rose Hill hosted each school in the district received what was, and still is their biggest check ever from the tournament. This includes the years of Frank Lee (the recruiting home) and the last year of OJ and Dawson. FWIW, all three tournaments that I mentioned were held at Summit Junior High.

The irony of the whole situation is that the guy who complained the loudest was eventually fired for misappropriation of funds. Go figure.

Indeed, he did sing the loudest but he also had a couple of backup singers.

Well I have to ask - who was singing the loudest?

Remember, I've been in Oldham County for over five years now.

PM me if you must.

If your Rose Hill or Ashland your thrilled with the results, if your Boyd or Fairview your obviously not.

Nice draw for the Tomcats. They should have no trouble winning if they play the way they did against Boyd. They need to contain the 3 pointer and I think they should be OK. A great matchup between the Lions and the Eagles.
