way to go CT !! That a girl !! You are correct IBALL, Tolliver is highly underrated! She IMO, is probably the top guard in NKY, especially to be a sophmore. Great win for SK, I am sure BC will bounce back! Tolliver had 25 pts. and 4-3 pointers!

Excellent post! I believe this is exactly what the Bible says for men and women! If men and women lived according to the Bible as far as the Word goes marriages would be perfect! IBALL, you posed a question which obviously has lots of proponents on both sides of the question. It is kind of the same situation when the three pointer came about. Alot of times its more about change then what is actually being changed.

I certainly hope that all coaches don't want to win at all costs. At the high school level ,imo, we should be trying to teach these young athletes more about life lessons and less about wins and losses. "Life is not about winning and losing,its about improving yourself inch by inch"-Bill Resler There is a great movie coming out in late Feb. called " The Heart of The Game" The book written by the same coach is a must read for any coach! "The Heart of The Team".

I love the idea of a 45 second shot clock. I have seen several teams this season hold the ball for at least 90 seconds. I agree totally with Boom, we should be trying to prepare the girls for the next level ! I would also agree that if it was part of the game you would hardly ever see a violation. It would simply keep the game moving.

29-15 isn't too lopsided as far as fouls go, or should i say i have seen a lot worse at some Lex. Cath. games Everyone likes to make excuses when they lose , but I know the BC girls very good and they are athletes, when you beat them by 22 in one half your doing something and should get some recognition. I agree with OldGuy , I don't understand Fookes dropping 3 girls down to play jv against ND seems pretty unclassy on her behalf

WOW ... shortdad ... i certainly didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I could care less where any of the girls play. Neither of my daughters play basketball and they attend Campbell co.. I have coached girls who are playing at BC, ND and Conner. I never root for one over the other. I was simply stating a fact that I wonder how good they would be with all of those other girls who all live or lived within 3 miles of each other would be. Quit trying to read into stuff and stick to facts.

I do believe the favorites are and should be ND/BC. Their tough schedules should help them come tournament time. With that being said I also believe Conner is playing the best basketball right now. With O'neil and Long you just may have the best backcourt in the 9th. I believe Conner would certainly have to bring their "A" game but they did beat Henry Clay by 10 who beat Boone by 4. I can only imagine that if the players who live in the Conner district (2 or 3 who play for ND and the players who moved to the BC district BC starting guard how good they would be now) Good luck to all, and i certainly wouldn't count out NCC

Great game played by both teams!! I have only been in a couple of gyms that have been as loud. The mark of a good team is when different girls step up each game and both teams have several girls who can step up. After watching the game , I do believe neither team should count out some of the other 9th region teams. There is a couple of teams capable of knocking either one of them out on the right night. Hi Otis, First off, I don't have any kids playing high school basketball, so he isn't my current coach. LCA's coach is probably a wonderful person with a great heart, but straight from his mouth to a couple of his players and one of the LCA dads was "we are going to press regardless if they beat it or not, so quit telling me about it". I am 100% confident that the coach cost them both games against catholic, I have both games on dvd. This last game LC had 36 made foul shots, 90% of them came from LCA fouling on the press. At some point you have to back off and concede that you aren't good enough to press. I would also say that 65% of the time LC had a 3 on1 game. I used to believe that 80% of the game was up to the players and 20% on the coach, and with my team its probably 90% players (they have a mediocre coach), but I really believe with most high school games the coach plays a lot bigger part of the game.

Once again , LCA's coach cost them the game. His philosophy in both of their meetings was "if we cannot press them and win we will lose" . Totally pathetic coaching for LCA. Catholic basically played 3 on 1 basketball up until about 4 minutes left in the game. In the first half the fouls at one point was 17 fouls commited for LCA and 4 against LC. Mostly due to the aggressive play from trying to press a team you aren't capable of pressing. Anna fouled out at 3:07 left in the game seconds before the LCA player had the seizure. LCA quit pressing in the fourth quarter after almost every single starter had 4 fouls and the rest of the game they couldn't play aggressively even in a half court defense. I may be a little biased but this LCA team has the ability to play with anyone in the state and should have won both games against Catholic. I didn't see the game against Henry Clay but the coach lost both games against Catholic

if LCA presses the entire game again they will lose again JMO LCA definitely has enough talent to win this game

Great games by both teams ! Each of them started out slow with the score at the end of the first quarter being 5-4 HC. Long and Oneil had very good games for Conner having 22 and 17 points respectively.

Simply put Jacy is the best point guard to ever play at Boone and their has been some very good ones! Barring an injury or something fluke she will never have to worry about starting or playing time issues. Jacy doesn't get the respect she deserves only because she doesn't score enough. She is a coaches dream in a lot of respects. She sees the floor like noone else. She makes passes that I haven't seen a lot of college girls make. She very easily could have been the state assist leader last yr. as a freshman. IF the girls catch the ball and make the bunnies she will be the assist leader this yr. as a sophmore. I seen her shred a full court defense which was ranked #1 in the country . The other team threw everything they had at her and she only had a couple of turnovers the entire game. We will be watching her play D1 in a couple more yrs. Coach Fookes has helped her and will continue to help her as she comes along. Jacy is a very hard worker. Sorry so long but i could add a few more things she is a class act!!

qs, you are exactly right , when you sub 5 for 5 you are very strong!! I wasn't at the game so i cannot say much. I will say, if coach Darpel only played 7 girls that pretty much cost them the game IMO. I am pretty familiar with ND and I am sure she should have and could have played 9 girls. I would have thought BC would have pressed from the tip knowing how good ND is in the half court game. The next game should be very interesting! Congrats to both teams on a very good game!! Hopefully i will see the next game. Congrats to the Boone players for never giving up! Also great job to Sparrow and Findley for playing a great game!

Kirsten is a true athlete. She is very good at several sports. This ND team will be fun to watch the next few yrs.

LCA won by a bunch , and Apollo won not sure about anyone else yet. This tournament has several top calibur teams in it. Good luck to all!

I noticed in a couple of SK's other games , their "D" has been very jaded. I do believe they will get better as the season moves on.

Does anyone have updates on the 2nd round of the tournament? There were several very good games yesterday.

This doesn't surprise me a whole lot. SK has not been challenged yet and ND is easily the best team in N KY right now. SK has some serious big girl issues as well. InDaZone, like OldGuy said, why don't you start putting Boones highlights and game scores on. Keep us up to date on the girls at BC !!
