So my plan was to stay for part of SC-Holmes- instead I got this :irked: The brown-haired Ben-Gal was lighting it up before the game. The J-man, while I don't exactly think he is a celebrity, was IMO the best man on the court (tied with Johannson). He only played the 2nd half. I believe the Santa was an NKU player, not sure who. He could get up. I thought that him trying to jump over Julie would be a disaster with those baggy Santa pants on.

As I told a Mason Co. Assistant Coach this summer, when Mason wins state, they are most certainly NKY. However, when compiling NKY Top 10 lists......now that is a different story!

I was not impressed by Kowoloneck (except for a short time in the early 4th) but Watson was very, very impressive. Big, athletic, and relentless. Good point. CCH defensive rebounding was miserable. Too many times the big guys were going for blocked shots and getting out of position CCH guards can hardly get the ball up the court, let alone get it inside. Honestly, it has never been a focal point at practice and I don't see that changing any time soon. Even since Votel, getting the ball to the post wasn't a part of the offense. I did. As much as I hate to say it (), GT is right. I feel so bad for Mitch, though. The fact that CovCath fans are saying that "we had a good game" in a loss to Ryle shows the fact that this team is way down. I remember two years ago, with two seniors out (me being one of them), CovCath lost by 6 to #1 ranked and future State Champs Scott County. Now, Losses to Ryle are considered good games. Personally, I think some of the JV players need more PT. Heimbrock played well tonight. Thelen needs to be more aggressive but he is, IMO, more talented now (as well as with room for improvement) then the other big guys. If anything, those JV guys don't turn the ball over- Ives, Counts, Pauly, even Maile are all turnover prone. I have never seen so many players pick of their dribble for no reason. Machinot can get the ball up the floor without turning it over.

The LexCath that I saw could not compete with Holmes or SC> :lol: Nice I enjoyed the new arena as well Agreed. It has to be Station. I was wondering when someone would talk about Housely. Then I realized no one had talked about Chad Jackson. Then I realized no one had talked about the other Johnson. Too much talent in this game.

Eta, Admittedly you know more about these teams, but I'd take Phares over Pittman, and I'd say Jackson/Johnson are even. Also, I don't understand why you think that Holmes should be able to outrebound SC, since Scott County is bigger. But I hope you're right!

True, but even getting through Male was something SK would not have done in most (recent) years. They certainly have improved tremendously.

And like I said, the best team doesn't always win. See your team's victory over X last week (or, if you see it differently, then see X's victory over you earlier this season). Those people voted the "SK would win the game" NOT that SK is a better team, program, or the best in NKY. To be honest, I have never been to an SK football game. I have no idea how the game will turn out. I just think that you are overreacting to us NKY people supporting a team from our area.

Like I said, still insecure. Simon Kenton is playing good football at the right time of the year. There is a reason they play the games still. The best team does not always win- it is arguable that X was better than T this year, yet T won in the playoffs. I can't imagine that the X fans were insulted that some people actually thought T might win. If SK played Trinity 10 times, I'd say Trinity wins 8 of them. Same for Highlands. However, the state championship is 1 game. Many think it is possible for SK to knock off a higher ranked and more presitigious team, as they have already done a few times this year.

18 state championships, but still incredibly insecure. No one is saying that Simon Kenton is a better team than Trinity, or a better program. No one says they are the favorite, and no one expects SK to blow Trinity out. That being said, SK certainly has a chance to win the game, and we NKY folks are going to cheer them on.

Things are different in the summer but I know for a fact that Shover held Sanford to 6 points in a game. Also, as someone who has played against a lot of those players (and many better ones before them), I know that Shover could do a decent job on them. I think you are the one who is not giving credit where it is due. :thumb:
