I'm sure the Cov Cath players and the fans remember the two losses very well and are going to want a little bit of revenge now that the game is being played in their house.

Sometimes the CCH student body doesn't make it out in full force for games against out of town opponents. I hope that's not the case Friday, and I don't expect it to be.

 

And I know Mason County fans will claim they're NKY, but...you're not.

Funny you should mention that, a few months ago, I was taking the local bus service into Cincinnati from Kentucky. We went past the Cov Cath high school, very nice campus and I noticed it was a little bit outside Covington.

I'm sure Park Hills, like many small towns in Kenton County, fall under "Covington" as far as the USPS is concerned but if you asked someone for directions to Covington you wouldn't be very close to Covington Catholic when you got there.

It was originally located in Covington back in the good ole days (TheOldGuy could probably tell ya about those ) and when the "new" school was built, the Marianist brothers decided to keep the name of Covington Catholic.

 

Since then, a new building has been built on the same campus, which is the school as it stands today.

Three Brothers

 

Covington Catholic High School traces its beginnings to the late nineteenth century when in 1885 three brothers of the Society of Mary came to Covington at the invitation of Fr. Aegidius, O.S.B., pastor of St Joseph's parish The brothers accepted from the pastor responsibility for establishing a commercial high school class as well as teaching the boys in the parish grade school. For the next forty years St. Joseph's School, situated on Twelfth Street near Greenup, opened its doors to boys from many parishes in Covington and later was the only Catholic high school for boys in the area.

I don't think Shover will be 100% for a few weeks, but who knows.
