  1. UK football staff is aware of Walker Wood and likes him as an athlete. I am not sure if that will develop into a scholarship offer in the future (I think he is a junior), but they are paying attention.
  2. With this final score, and other recent scores in Lexington, there is obviously a trend. This is just not enjoyable football, in my opinion. It is hard to believe the kind of defense being played these days. If I have not seen it in person myself, I would guess these defenses are: 1.) Playing with only 8 players 2.) Playing with their hands tied behind their back 3.) Playing on a 50 yard field 4.) Not paying attention to their defensive coaches instruction I do not enjoy watching these type games and I feel there will be a lot more games this season where the teams will combine for well over 100 points. It's gonna happen and I don't like it.
  3. I would have a hard time picking the best quarterback in Fayette County this season. Peyton Burke Walker Wood Andre Davis All are very nice high school players.
  4. Scott County has always had a very good play/action passing game. If you are well behind on the scoreboard and playing catch up, linebackers and defensive backs don't bite as much on the play/action fakes.
  5. I agree with you 'Ru. I am just not a fan, nor will ever be a fan of this type of football game.
  6. Elder will score a lot of points. I am not sure if Scott County will be able to keep pace. Elder by 20+ points.
  7. #2 Austin Bledsoe ran for significant yardage against St. X.
  8. Henry Clay's quarterbacks have not thrown long passes. Henry Clay running back Joquise Buford will again sit out his second straight game for a disciplinary action. I would think Henry Clay will be hard for GRC to beat at home.
  9. St. Xavier pretty much dominated this one. Henry Clay was missing their best offensive player, but they have a lot more issues at this earlier juncture of the season to work out. St. X seems very committed to the up-tempo, spread the field offense. I am kind of surprised. Their quarterback has good size and is a nice athlete. Thoughts and prayers for the St. Xavier player who was taken from the field in an ambulance.
  10. I am very much looking forward to seeing the Henry Clay/St. X and Lexington Catholic/Ryle doubleheader. Again this season, Henry Clay has a lot of individual talent. I have said and I will reiterate, Davonte Robinson is a fantastic talent. He will get some touches on offense and is very explosive because of his speed. However, his strength and future will be on the defensive side of the football and he will wreak havoc against St. Xavier. My understanding is that highly touted running back Joquise Buford will not play in this and maybe next week's game. Disciplinary measures. Henry Clay will be breaking in a new quarterback. Two quarterbacks will, in some way, alternate at the position. A third will also possibly see some playing time. In the past, St. X has not been very dynamic on offense, but they will begin a new era in style. Probably will take a little time to adjust to the new philosophy. As far as a prediction, I think with a top flight player like Buford being absent, and the unsettled and inexperience at quarterback, will make it tough for Henry Clay to win this evening. I like St. X's disciplined program to prevail in this close, interesting match up.
  11. I am not disagreeing with you. I did not see the game and have no explanation for why Davonte may have played poorly in your eyes. You have seen him in one scrimmage game. I have seen him in many games in the past two years. I have seen him run track. I have seen him at UK's camp. Trust me when I say he is a special player. Or if not, just ask Coach Stoops. He feels the same way.
  12. I did not attend the Henry Clay/Trinity scrimmage, so I can not speak to Davonte Robinson's performance that night. I will say, Davonte Robinson will be the best player on the field in the Henry Clay/St. Xavier game Friday night. He is an outstanding football player and may even be better on the next level. And then he may even be better on the next level. It is unfair to speak of a high school kid and his NFL potential, but Davonte has a skill set to play on Sundays. I honestly think he is the crown jewel of Coach Stoops' outstanding 2016 recruiting class.
  13. A very sad tragedy. The players' family, teammates, and the entire Hopkinsville community is in my thoughts and prayers.
  14. If you are saying I am justifying, you didn't read my post.
  15. Poor decision by the coach, pitcher, and catcher, but.... The home plate umpire is cheating for some reason. That called ball four pitch was not on the corner, it was right down the middle of the plate. It was not letter high or knee high, it was belt high. For the umpire who has any experience calling a game to call that pitch ball four, he has a hidden agenda and is cheating.
  16. Just like each of their fathers did 20+ years before.
  17. Why Vincennes, PP92? What factors went into Jeremiah's decision?
  18. I love the pre-game analysis. I love the pre-game chatter. I love the predictions. I love reading the play-by-play updates. I love being able to quickly find the score on the BGP site. I love the post-game analysis, chatter, and discussions. I only hope that BGP can effectively recruit more and more subscribers throughout the state of Kentucky to help contribute to the whole process. That would really make it fun.
  19. When I saw the list, I was dumbfounded that James Bolden was not on it. It now makes sense that, admittedly, an error was made. It would also make sense if James Bolden was now added and the list was eleven players in 2015. The good news is we won't have to wait for months for this case to go to the Supreme Court for a judgment. Guru has the power!
  20. I am kind of surprised at your preference, Goldie. Since this is your 50th Sweet Sixteen tournament, I am going to lump you in the old-timer class along with myself. From a spectator standpoint, I loved the Saturday morning/Saturday evening doubleheader. I am sure that coaches and players might have a different viewpoint. I must admit that I have not been to a final under the new Sunday afternoon format. Doesn't seem right to me and I have other things to do on Sundays.
