Elder reeled off 27 unanswered points after falling behind twice in the first quarter and beat Lakota West 34-17 Saturday afternoon at Lakota West.

 

Elder, ranked No. 4 in the latest Enquirer Division I area coaches' poll, got four touchdown runs from senior running back Ja'Vahri Portis.

 

The Panthers (2-0) improved to 4-0 in the all-time series against Lakota West (1-1).

I look forward to seeing how this one turns out and may head over to the Pit to watch it. IMO, this should be a good game.

I've picked Scott Co. as the 6A state champs in the other thread. I think this game will really help them accomplish that goal. Playing in a very formidable environment will test Scott Co. in every aspect. I'm going with Elder in a close game. I think Scott Co.'s style of play will prevent the aforementioned blowout.

I'm not sure how good this Elder team is. Right now I would maybe pick them last in the GCL South but of course that is one tough league.

I would recommend going just to go there at least once; great atmosphere to watch a game.

I will take Elder in this one.. But being a Oak Hills Grad... I hope Scott County beats them senseless!!

Currently Elder is number 139 nationally according to calpreps. St. X (Cincy) is 121, Brentwood Academy is 112, and Trinity is 14.
