Start the season a week or two earlier. That will help the Sweet 16 not compete with the NCAA. Not the biggest problem, but it is part of the issue.

Most coaches, not all, require players to practice the day before the game. If the player was suspended on a Thursday and a game on Friday, I would assume that he wouldn't practice and wouldn't play. If he was suspended on a Friday, I could see him playing on a Monday night after practice on the weekend. All of this is assuming the coach is "ok" with having the student be suspended in the first place. I think the fact that your player was suspended from school is the bigger issue here. If I have a kid that was suspended, normally there would be team consequences that would have to be in place to begin with.

High school basketball is 100% about match ups. Some teams just don't match others (style, pace, size...). It is really hard to read scores, but it really is just how teams match up against each other. Obviously, Lincoln didn't match Station well, but did match up against Lafayette. Boyle had the shot blocker and athletic guards to match Station. All about match ups....

How is Lincoln getting better? Halftime score lastweek was 7-6 Casey.....

I'm just an outsider but it looks like to me that South has made a complete mess of this entire situation. I have to agree with gchs_uk9 that you would expect more out of a school such as South Laurel. Honestly, with all the stuff I've read (heard) I would have a hard time believing that anyone would want to commit to a school system that has as much trouble with this entire process. Scary situation for any coach to be honest.... I, for one, wish Brad the best! I hope he gets the job he's always wanted and makes all the naysayers appreciate his coaching ability and his passion for the game!

I know South has a new Principal. Will the Principal hire or will he let the AD? Who are some of the names anyone is hearing?

Not really.... He has a home in Rowan and would be really close to it. Family is up there as well and he used to play at Morehead! I think they will have better talent at Bath from top to bottom AND he wouldn't have to play third fiddle to soccer and softball. Sounds like a bunch of good reasons to move to me!

I think you are right that Coach Thomas likes it at West HOWEVER they are never going to be really a contender in the 12th region. I will not be surprised to see him apply and get the Bath County job. He is a GREAT coach that, with a little talent, will be able to compete on a year to year basis! He has taken a team at West (that didn't have much talent at all) and at least made them compete! They are able to guard and play hard but they just don't have the horses to run with anyone. I think Bath would be a good spot for him and I hope he gets the job!! I know I will be pulling for Bath County if he gets it....

How about former CCH player and Centre star--Matt Nestheide! I know he was an assistant at Centre for a while when he graduated and lives in Northern Kentucky now.

I'm a 12th region homer and hopes Rock beat everyone and wins the state BUT I've also watched Manual, Mercy and Sacred Heart. They are NOT Station or Central by any means. I am hoping for a 12th region champion but I'm not sure the road will be as easy as you would like.

I can't but results/standings and just plain odds can. A team out of the 1st(92), 2nd (80), 3rd (91), 8th (93), 10th (87), 15th (85) and 16th (86) would have to win TWO games against really good teams to get to Saturday morning. The sweet 16 draw hasn't happened yet so there is a chance that the stars could align for one of them and someone like the 12th could play the 7th in the first couple of rounds and would knock out some contenders there but think about it.... On a given night ANYONE can lose. I will go with that. SOMETIMES a team that is a 20 point underdog (according to ratings) could beat TWO teams that are better but doesn't happen often. With the top teams into the 100's (7th at 119, 12th 106, 4th 106, 9th 104 and 5th at 103) Realistically it all comes down to the draw as to who gets to Saturday. The draw is one of major players in this tournament anyway.
