So the 9th region could have taken $55,000 and bought the rights. Would Insight have paid to broadcast the semis and finals? If so how much would you guess they would have?

Scott was ranked second most of the year and they were better than Cov Cath IMO. I believe at the end of the year Highlands may have even been ranked 3rd. It was a good year and Holmes was clearly the cream of the crop.

joejoe Yes we did party w/ them from time to time. Jesse was pretty good that year.

JoeJoe, Scott was the 2nd best team that year but Holmes blew them out during the regular season. I'm not even sure if they made the regional, but Jett, Geraci, Mullins, Dees (spelling), and another 6'7" guy I think his name was Miller were pretty good that year. I agree though that Holmes was the clear favorite.

Jeremy Colemire TJ Evans Doug Hall Mulcahy Ben Brown Lost to Dennis Johnson's team 1st round in state. I was on the 96 HC team that beat Holmes and it was an awsome experience. But in the back of my mind, I would've like to see if Holmes could've won state that year.

HC in 94, had Joe Harney went to WKU, Todd Clark went to EKU, Brian Johnson walked on at Xavier and Jason Williams played at Embry Riddle which is NAIA. As for Holmes, I think they're the best team in the state but I only see Ricardo Johnson and Elijah Pittman being D-1 players and J. Johnson, Riley and Arnold playing college ball, just not D-1.

Why would you put a poll up for this game? Anyways, Cooper has a great coach and in the long run will be a good team because of it. Good luck to both teams. By the way, it was the Principal who made all Cooper teams play varsity schedules, not the AD or coaches.

I'm pretty sure his sister is in 8th grade at St. Augustine and plays girls varsity at Holy Cross. They're saying she is the real deal. I don't know where either of them are going to high school though.

I'll take that bet that a freshman will shoot 50% on 3's. He may be really good, but that doesn't happen a lot.

Don't count out Dixie, in 2 years they should compete for the Regional title. Trammel will be a Senior, Pike will be a Junior and Hatton will be a Freshman. All will have 3 years of varsity experience and imo will be better than Holmes.

No, they actually were number 1 that year.

Harlan (Charles Thomas-Minn.), LexCath (Vondale Morton-Marshall), University Heights (Lamont Barnes-Temple) and HC (Joe Harney-WKU) were the top 4 in state and at the time was the final 4 at the All A classic with University Heights winning.

Holmes in '96 had to be ranked top 4 but not number 1. I know they didn't lose to a 9th region team all season until the Regionals. I think they had 3 losses on the season. Sullivan, Rice, Conrad, Humphrey, Slusher and Evans made a great team.

I hate to join the pary late but if any kid is not playing for an illness I wish for him to be healthy above all else. Basketball is so not important.

So the people saying that HC was going to struggle to score..ie...(me and others)..seem to be dead on. You can't lose a guy who goes for 28 and 12 and be better.

We were also told that Henderson had the grades and would test fine. I'm not sure the reason he's not in Louisiana but I heard it was qualification issues. I hear Rice may be getting looks from Baylor which is absoluely awesome news if true. Holmes looks like they are having succes getting kids into juco's and they are doing well once they get there.

I know what grade he's in. I've been told he's likelu juco. I believe the person that told me that. I'm specualting that he might not be getting big offers b/c of it. He's far and away the biggest prospect in the state, yet he has no offers.

So you don't want to talk about it got it. I've heard that part of the reason he's not getting big offers is b/c he may not qualify. On this site people talk all the time about high school kids qualifying for colleges. So this response makes me think what I've heard is true. I hope I'm wrong though b/c he is a special player.
