Kinda true. The hospital I work at is almost always 100% full with people waiting in the ER for a bed. That being said, COVID patients have displaced “money making” patients as elective surgeries have been pushed back repeatedly because of bed/staff shortages. They also require more intense, time consuming care on top of all the new masking and gowning restrictions required for ALL patients. So, though we are full, as always, the patient population dynamics have changed. COVID patients have put stress on every department in some way or another.

You seem to spend a lot of time trash talking and taunting on a Beechwood thread, that has nothing to do with Mayfield. Beechwood/Mayfield is down the road. Beechwood has never beaten Mayfield, maybe this is the year, maybe not. Seems you are putting a ton of effort into running your jets early on. Usually the Tigers take it one game at a time, but I sincerely hope we can cut the head off of this particular snake this season.

I am very excited for the game tonight. Mr. BWF made me come home from vacation a day early so he could go to the game. I am a bit tired from travel, so am glad I can watch it from the comfort of my recliner. As much as I love Beechwood, I have a hard time believing that The Tigers are the best team in the states regardless of class, as some have mentioned. I am just hoping they are the best team in Ft. Mitchell tonight. GO TIGERS!

I pulled up Chatterboxsports.com and clicked in the Beechwood/Cov Cath icon. Nothing happens. Wanted to pay early so that I don’t miss anything. Do I have to wait till closer to the game?

Maybe, but too many younger folks are raised in the “ instant satisfaction, everything is disposable, ME generation” mentality. Marriage takes work sometimes. I am definitely not against divorce, but think too few people put in the work before they bail.

I am surprised that people don’t think about it much. It was such a pivotal event. It showed us that America is vulnerable and no one is as safe as we thought. I can’t say that I think about it on a daily basis, but the effects of that day are always with me.

I chose to get the vaccine and am happy I did. That being said, as a nurse I know that paper masks and cloth masks help contain the spread of the wearers’ cough/sneezes, which in turn protects others from exposure. They do zero to stop anyone from inhaling the Covid virus. The virus passes easily through regular masks. To prevent inhaling the virus you would have to have an N95 mask, which is not easy to breathe through long term. So, if you think wearing a mask will protect you against the virus, that’s unlikely, unless it is an N 95. i saw a guy at a casino last week jumping game to game with a paper mask and gloves on. Ridiculous.

I think about it often. I was at work, and I remember looking after the first tower was hit trying to figure out what happened when suddenly the second tower was hit. Completely shocked! I remember thinking that this must be what it was like when Pearl Harbor was hit. So surreal. Then I remember the unbelievable courage from everyday people who did selfless acts to help however they could. How horrific, but good people responded without being asked. A terrible tragedy met with great American compassion. A month before it happened, I was on a family cruise to celebrate my in laws 60th anniversary. It was a Mediterranean cruise and one of our stops was Turkey. We had a wonderful Muslim woman who was our guide. After 911, she contacted us apologizing for the attack and wanted us to know that most Muslims are loving peaceful people. Her words meant a lot. Honestly, has it not been for that trip, meeting her and seeing her kindness, i would probably have a whole bunch more hate inside me. Most people in this world are decent loving people. It is a shame the radical groups of idiots get the notoriety. Personally , I would love to see a month long ban on all news. I think we would all be a lot better off.

I have been around the block a time or two, and personally have been very lucky with Mr. BWF. Though I agree that most don’t look to cheat, there is a reason that people give in to doing so. Also, I personally know serial cheaters. They are always looking for something better, and only feel bad when caught. I know a guy who repeatedly cheated on 3 wives. Who would marry a guy after that? Somebody did because he was a successful doctor. Life is very weird and interesting.

Always love to see a Ky team beat an Ohio team. Don’t know a thing about Roger Bacon, other than my dad got cut from their football team 4 years in a row back in the 40’s. Go NCC!

Stretching helps a lot. You might also want to freeze a mostly full plastic water bottle and roll your foot over from time to time.

I am all for choice in getting the vaccine. I am totally upset with the talk about starting up masking protocols again, as well as MANDATING vaccines in certain occupations. I work in a hospital and we were told the vaccine is voluntary. People took it or did not. We were not pressured in any way, and no restrictions were placed against those who did not take the vaccine. Oddly enough the flu vaccine was mandated for years until this year. I test patients daily for Covid and it has been months since I had a patient test positive. IMO, the media is still driving the hysteria train. I took the vaccine, which was my choice. I respect those who did not. Like everything else, we all live with the consequences of our choices.

My immediate though was “of course they should.” After reading this thread though, I was swayed. They earned it, they should have it. My sister is a teacher in a poor school district. She said that people celebrate when a poor kid gets an athletic scholarship, but many of those kids don’t make it. It’s one thing to get a full ride. Free housing, tuition, and food are great. It’s another to buy clothes, and other incidentals that scholarships don’t cover. Also, academically many start way behind and struggle there too.

This is a family favorite: Texas Slaw 1 16 oz bag coleslaw mix 1 7 oz can Mexican style corn, drained 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 2 fresh jalapeños seeded and chopped 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro 1 cup ranch dressing 1/4 tsp ground cumin 1/4 tsp ground coriander 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 lime juiced In a large bowl, toss together coleslaw mix, corn, cheddar cheese, jalapeño, and cilantro. Stir together Ranch dressing, spices, and lime juice. Toss with coleslaw mix.

I work in a hospital. Initially we were told that we could go without masks in non patient care areas, but that was quickly reversed. The powers that be felt if patients/visitors should happen to see us they might not feel “protected.”
