Beechwood at Frankfort
Don't look past Beechwood Frankfort, you beat a good Mayfield team, not a great Mayfield team. This will be the state championship IMO, we'll see how Beechwood handles all that speed.

Mayfield at Frankfort (1A)
Thanks for this!!

North Bullit @ Lone Oak (4A)
I didn't go to the Lone Oak/Calloway County rematch, but you can watch that game on wpsdtv.com and pretty much get an idea of what Lone Oak is going to do. I only had to watch the first half, lol, the rest of the game got ugly. If North Bullitt cannot defend the short pass, they are doomed, just watch the video.

Mayfield at Frankfort (1A)
Can any Frankfort folks tell me directions to the stadium when you come into town from either the bluegrass parkway or highway 127? Whatever seems easiest, thanks.

Mayfield at Frankfort (1A)
This is what the Massey ratings say?? Where did they have Mayfield ranked when the AP poll had them ranked at #7? I would have figured that the Fulton City win would have bumped us up, but to #2?

Henry Co. @ Paducah Tilghman (3A) Round 3
I have only seen PT play once and that was our Mayfield/Tilghman rivalry game. They close the holes fast and you had better hold on to the ball, they specialize in fumbles, very well trained on defense. It will be a tough one for Henry County for sure, if Henry County is a pass oriented team, it could make it interesting. PT has a monster of a QB, just get your running shoes on, .

Mayfield at Frankfort (1A)
I am interested in who thinks who has the stronger schedule? I don't know much about the teams on Frankfort's schedule, with the exception of Danville. I know that Mayfield has played several top 10 ranked teams this year in Marshall, Graves, Tilghman, Caldwell, and Fulton City.

Mayfield 46 Fulton City 20 (1A)
Fulton City played with a lot of heart and emotion tonight, I gotta give em that, they were burning us with the run quite often, and had a lot of us Mayfield folks quite nervous going into the second half. I think our pass defense has really stepped it up since the caldwell game, so I am pleased to see that. I believe that having Logan in the lineup made a huge difference, he is so hard to bring down. I hope the Fulton kid that had to be airlifted to the hospital is going to be alright. Didn't see any after game antics by any of the Mayfield folks after the game, I did see a lot of Fulton folks standing on the bulldog at the end. I heard one lady say she hopes we get stomped by Frankfort next week and I told her that I would be cheering on FCity if they beat us cause I want to know I got beat by the state champion or at least the regional or runner up. I kinda thought the stands would be packed and I was amazed to be able to sit on the Bulldog side as a Mayfield fan, much better seats!! I heard that McNutt is going to be fine, there just seemed to be a lot of kids going down tonight, must be indicative of a hard-hitting game. Well, thats about all I got to say about it, congrats to FCity in the best season ever, I hear that at least 2 of your boys are getting offers, very impressive.

Second Round: Mayfield @ Fulton City
So Williams is not going to be center?

Second Round: Mayfield @ Fulton City
I did see that hit, what a lick!! Should be a great game, can't wait till Friday!!
-
Second Round: Calloway County @ Lone Oak
Are you positive that the teams split the gate? I was told by one school official that the KHSAA gets most of the gate minus the expenses in the playoffs.

Second Round: Mayfield @ Fulton City
Well, here are my early thoughts on the game. Mayfield has Logan Armstrong in this game, he made a huge difference in the Crittenden game last night when we spread it out with the pass threat or the run threat, and when he ran the ball he picked up huge yards!! This will force Fulton City into a different defensive scheme so it will be different in that respect. If Fulton City makes some of the mistakes/fumbles it made last night it could make it interesting for the cardinals. It really depends on which Mayfield Offense and defense shows up in this game as to how close it will be. Right now I will pick Mayfield 21-14.

Second Round: Calloway County @ Lone Oak
Who knows what will happen, I really wish I could go, but my Mayfield Cardinals will be playing an equally big game down in Fulton City. My buddy said we should just have a double header at MSU so we could watch em all, it would be cool with me, lol.

Mayfield 24 Crittenden County 21 (1A)
I agree, I have seen some pretty bad officiating this year, not just in this game, must be a lot of new ones start this year or something. For some reason, when Mayfield gets near the redzone, we lose our minds as to what plays we need to call to score, I still haven't figured that one out. You got to hand it to Crittenden, they never give up, they could be down 50 points and they will still be out there giving you 110%. Yeah, this Crittenden team will pretty much all be back next year, gonna be an interesting district matchup!!

What's the price for Friday nites playoff games & is season ticket holders covered?
Humm, I don't remember Mayfield charging any more than the usual prices.
-
Crittenden County @ Mayfield
I have no reason to think it will be a high scoring game by Mayfield. I believe its going to be old school football in the playoffs, which means long possessions for Mayfield through the running game. I think the final score will be similar to the caldwell score.

Lone Oak quarterback breaks state record!
Yeah, and for that I would give the edge to Lone Oak in the game, but like I said, if Mayfield had an effective run game against Lone Oak, I think the game would come down to the wire. The only two passing teams that Mayfield has played is Calloway and Caldwell, and Mayfield played two very different games there. Have any teams been very successful at getting to Robinson? I am not saying Mayfield would dominate Lone Oak by no means, I think it would take some very good coaching along with the best showing of Mayfield's defense all year to pull it off, but if we could get to Robinson and force him to make some bad decisions, it could play a big factor.

Lone Oak quarterback breaks state record!
I would say that the Graves game was Mayfield's best game where they completely shut down graves and allowed 0 points to be scored and never allowed Graves within 30 yards of the end zone. If that team played Lone Oak, coupled with the pass defense I saw in the caldwell game, then I would pick Mayfield, but its all our opinion, we won't ever know.

Crittenden County @ Mayfield
- Crittenden County @ Mayfield
17 first downs, I would say we were moving the ball pretty well.- Crittenden County @ Mayfield
I was and he is right, Mayfield tanked at least twice in the redzone, and rump was in a great position to make a pass interception that would have been a TD, I highly doubt that pass will be dropped by him next year. Mayfield couldn't have gotten away with a whole lot, 11 penalties to CC's 3.- Lone Oak quarterback breaks state record!
You are right, too bad Mayfield and Lone Oak couldn't get scheduled, from the way they have played, it would have been a great test for Mayfield's secondary and Lone Oak going into the playoffs.- Lone Oak quarterback breaks state record!
Yeah, I consider Lone Oak a favorite for sure. I am just saying if Mayfield plays their typical run game, grind em out and keeps Lone Oak off the field and eats up big time, Lone Oak won't be able to score a lot. Yeah, Calloway has been so far the worst display of pass defense I have seen and that is a good comparison, but I thought caldwell was supposed to be a good passing team? Mayfield really stepped up the pass defense in that game and I believe that Mayfield can stop a passing team if they really wanted to, we were giving the Calloway guys a ton of room to run their routes and they killed us, but if you notice in the caldwell game we were playing right on em and making the plays. I just think it would be a close game, probably a lot like the calloway-lone oak game.- Lone Oak quarterback breaks state record!
It would have been interesting to see a Mayfield-Lone Oak matchup. I don't think Lone Oak would be able to put up a lot of points against Mayfield, with Mayfield playing ball control for most of the game and keeping Robinson off the field. But from what I have heard, Lone Oak has a solid run defense this year and they did hold Fulton City to a touchdown I believe which does say something for their run defense. - Crittenden County @ Mayfield
