Mayfield 46 Fulton City 20 (1A)

Featured Replies

Very good second half for the Cards, best in weeks! Controlled the game after a fantastic 92 yd kickoff return by Xavier Shelton that took the lead 14-12 after a Fulton City score.

Congrats to Fulton City on their GREAT RUN!:thumb:

Shaky start for Big Red. The Cards give up a 69 yard pass on 3rd and long on first series but eventually get rolling. Cards were without long snapper and the replacement struggled leading to missed first PAT then a shank punt and finally his low snap lead to Cards kicker/punter Tommy McNutt getting hurt and leaving game.

The Cards took control in second half and poured it on. I noticed a sign on the Cards sideline late in the game that read "1.6 seconds not forgotten". This was a reference to the earlier game when Fulton decided to score rather than take a knee while leading by several scores. Mayfield obviously, meant to make the revenge clear, the starters stayed on long after they should have been pulled.

Did u see the "Tebowesque" jump pass Logan threw at the goal line...I was like...oh that does work!

Kicker McNutt has a bruise after getting killed on a botched snap, but it looks as if he should be fine. Mayfield's DL Lawson looks to be out for the year, but the fill in's did a very nice job tonight!

I spoke with Tommy and he said he would be back nexxt week

Heard Coach Morris on the KNN Scoreboard Show. Said Mayfield was starting 2 frosh and 2 sophs in the secondary. This is a remarkably good effort from a remarkably young Cardinal team. Per usual, the Cardinals will be practicing on Thanksgiving.

Congrats to the fine folks in Mayfield. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Good game Cards. Good luck the next few weeks.

As for our FC Dawgs. Men there is no reason to hang your heads you played a very good season.

Please to all readers pput FC's #72 Cerdic Brandsford in your prayers, After a hiit to the head in the fourth he was sent to the hospital then a few minutes ago air lifted to Nashville.

I knew it would be tough for Fulton City to win twice in one year against Mayfield.

Good game Cards. Good luck the next few weeks.

Man that is not what I was wanting to hear. CR keep us posted on #72

Fulton City played with a lot of heart and emotion tonight, I gotta give em that, they were burning us with the run quite often, and had a lot of us Mayfield folks quite nervous going into the second half. I think our pass defense has really stepped it up since the caldwell game, so I am pleased to see that. I believe that having Logan in the lineup made a huge difference, he is so hard to bring down. I hope the Fulton kid that had to be airlifted to the hospital is going to be alright. Didn't see any after game antics by any of the Mayfield folks after the game, I did see a lot of Fulton folks standing on the bulldog at the end. I heard one lady say she hopes we get stomped by Frankfort next week and I told her that I would be cheering on FCity if they beat us cause I want to know I got beat by the state champion or at least the regional or runner up. I kinda thought the stands would be packed and I was amazed to be able to sit on the Bulldog side as a Mayfield fan, much better seats!! I heard that McNutt is going to be fine, there just seemed to be a lot of kids going down tonight, must be indicative of a hard-hitting game. Well, thats about all I got to say about it, congrats to FCity in the best season ever, I hear that at least 2 of your boys are getting offers, very impressive.

He was bobbing his head and strutting after several big tackles and was playing a whale of a game...I didn't see the hit in question and hate to hear this...Prayers from the Cards and BGP family.

Way to get it back Cards...I may see you guys at Frankfort next week...

What a crowd. Congrats to the Cardinals on the hard fought win.

It is the hardest hitting that our defense has done since the game.

made a big difference in the game like I thought he would. He is just tough as nails.

The o-line opened some big holes even when

Fulton City

had nine men in the box.

By the time Tyrese Murrell graduates he might be the best back ever to come out of Mayfield.

Now for Fulton City

Congrats on the great season. You should be proud of what you did and you showed nothing but class tonight after your loss.

Dropped passes IMO was the big problem for

Fulton City made some good throws when he needed to but the receivers couldn’t bring them in.

Talked to Fulton Citys D. Williams after game true class kid. Can't say that their #26.
