  1. These rankings are a joke. JBS (16) who got beat by Hazard (NR) who got beat by University Heights (23).
  2. Here is the link: Larkey chosen to build Bears
  3. Here is what the Lexington Herald reported to be the All-tournament team: MVP: Tyshwan Edmondson (UHA) Scotty Hopson and DaQuan Brown (UHA) Justin Jones, Michael Campbell and Josh Whitaker (Hazard) Trent Maddox (Gallatin Co.) Dakotah Euton and Chad Jackson (Rose Hill) Jordan Hickman and Corey Hall (Bardstown) Shane Grimm and Landon Slone (Paintsville)
  4. I'm not sure if there are any backup plans.
  5. My vote goes to Mike Jones. Probably the most successful boy's basketball coach at a Harlan County School, even though it was Harlan Independent.
  6. The people they offered outside the county turned it down, supposedly. I think Shelia Smith from M'boro (formerly of Harlan Independent) and the Whitely Co. principal were the two who were offered, but declined. Howard was probably the best candidate in the county. Mike Jones would be a good candidate, too, but will probably have other duties to tend to.
  7. Everyone is saying Bob Howard will be the new principal. He is currently the principal at Evarts High School.
  8. I agree. Johnson hit a couple of outside shots against Cawood, but that is all I have seen him do from the outside. I would like to see him stay on the block, and go to work!!!
  9. Like HDE said, I had coaching responsibilities that night and couldn't make the trip to Lynn Camp. I guess when you have seen more 13th region games than anyone other than HDE, you can tell people like me I "probably need to be at the game." :thumb: I'm not making excuses for the Redskins. I knew it was going to take an extraordinary effort to beat Pineville. I was stating the information that I received from a person who attended the game. As far as Cumberland being overrated goes, I think we'll have to wait and see. From what I have seen, read, and heard, Cumberland's offensive firepower is lacking, but their defensive effort is still there. The aspect of the team I question the most is the freedom of PG Leisge. He is a solid guard, but he has no explosiveness, and furthermore, no left hand. He can knock down open shots, but can't create his own shot. The Redskins offense is certainly suspect, and I think they are going to have to start putting more points on the board if they're going to win the region. The potential is there, however.
  10. I thought the rumor was that Highlands is moving up to 6A. I think that is where they need to be.
  11. From what I have heard, questionable strategy, probably; questionable officiating, definitely. Someone please enlighten me on this issue. I heard that Pineville shot 25 free throws to Cumberland's 10. I also heard that Day's nose was bleeding for a 5-6 minute stretch and the officials would not bring him out of the game. It was told that blood was on his uniform, and possibly on others. Whether this is true, I don't know because I wasn't there. It sounds pretty bad, though.
  12. I don't get it. What do you mean?
  13. Please leave Rock, Coach Larkey. Sorry, Rockcastle fans, you've had your share of success, it is time for ours.
  14. These rating aren't even worth looking at.
  15. Hilton has already turned down the job.
  16. I thought Cumberland played sloppy. They missed enough free throws to win the game, and threw the ball away way too much.
  17. I think it would be good for the Bears to play a top-notch opponent like Bell.
  18. Cawood beat Whitesburg in the school's final game. Whitesburg was a weak team that season.
  19. From what I saw at the championship games, the running back from Louisville Central should be on the list somewhere, maybe as an ATH. I think his name is Darrell Taylor? I'm not sure about his last name.
  20. Corey Robinson of Lone Oak. Look him up.
  21. He does not have control of the ball in this picture. Therefore, without seeing the play, this picture does nothing.
  22. Cumberland seemed to have overlooked Harlan in the first half, but got on track in the third quarter. Cumberland did play everyone in the 4th quarter.
