Impressive Statistics from this year

Featured Replies

What were some of the better achievements throughout the year? What are some stats that might be "eye-popping" or just flat out impressive?

North Bullitt had 3 kids with 1300+ offensive yds. Dalton Cissell rushed for 1,858 yds. QB's R.D. Reynolds and Jordan Mayberry each had just over 1,300 yds rushing and passing.

Lewis County's J.T. Britt set a new state record with 99 receptions in a season.

That is a very big number.

That is a very big number.

It's a very impressive number, he achieved this despite the fact that his team was outmanned most of the time. And probably will not get much state recognition for his accomplishment, due to where he played. But, apparently, he is a very athletic football player.

Pulaski County Sophomore QB Chris Muse...

1973 yards rushing with 19 TDs

1742 yards passing with 16 TDs

Ryan Young from Lincoln County had 11 interceptions. The team had 23 total.

Looks like Pulaski County has another dual threat at QB. Is he as big as the kid they had at QB a few years ago. I forget his name, but he was impressive. About the same time that SW had Renfro I believe.

Cole Draughn is the QB from the 2000-2003 era. He was about 6'2" 250ish.

Muse is about 5'10" 170ish.

Bell County's kicker/punter Monte Merrick: Longest FG in state this year: 56 yds. against Rockcastle. Third longest distance in Ky prep history.

71 touchbacks on season! Kickoff distance ave. around 68 yds.

Lexington Catholic outscored their opponents 236-35 in the PLAYOFFS.

Louisville Central won state with 5 loses

1) As mentioned: Corey Robinson's entire stat line. Much has been made of his competition, but those types of numbers would be amazing even if done, as they say, 'against air.'

2) Steven Ferguson of Eastern made all-district at three positions (QB, DB, Ret)

3) Tough schedules: Louisville St. X and Louisville Trinity's opponents won 118 and 117 games, respectively, and the winning pct of the schools on both their schedules was over 60%. In 9 of their 15 games, St. Xavier played a team that finished with 10 or more wins. Trinity played 10+ win teams 6 times and 13+ win teams 4 times.

4) Per the Trinity stats website - Trinity's starting offense had a stretch ranging from the 2nd quarter of Game 6 v. Ballard to the 3rd quarter of Game 12 v. Ballard in which they scored TD on 48 straight possessions, discounting the possessions that ended because of halftime (not downs, turnover, or punt).

Lewis County's J.T. Britt set a new state record with 99 receptions in a season.
And had it broken shortly thereafter by Jamarielle Brown of Lone Oak ... 106 catches for over 2,000 yards.
